Duringeachsession,wewillbeteamteachingtheslidecontent,aswellasleadingdiscussions
andscaffoldingtheneedsofeachteacherlearneraccordingtotheLearningSpiral(Lyons,
2001).Betweensessions,wewillbeavailableforteachersupportandquestions.

Teacherswillbecollaboratingwithvariousindividualsandgroupsduringtheseprofessional
developmentsessions,includingtheirgradelevelteams,tablegroups,partners,andtheentire
staff.Throughscaffoldingandfacilitatingprofessionalconversationscenteredondataand
learningactivities,wewillencouragecollaborationanddevelopmentofaprofessionallearning
community.Schoolwidechangeisonlyachievablethroughteacherandadministratorteamwork
(Taylor,2011)

Sustainablefollowup:
Teacherswillhavetheopportunitytogetfeedbacksurroundingaselfselectedaspectof
conferringbyaliteracycoachorpeer.Teachersmayalsovideotapethemselvesleadinga
readingconferencetobringtoacoachingsession.

Nextsteps:
Teacherswillpracticeconferringforamonth,receivingindividualizedcoachingandsupport
fromtheliteracycoach.Afterthatcoachingcycle,teacherswilltakeanothersurveysothatwe
canseewhatisgoingwellandwhatareasneedtoberevisited.Thefollowingprofessional
developmentwillbemoredifferentiated,asitislikelythatteachersneedsmayvarywidely.
