Thank you very much for supporting Dulaang UP for the past 40 years. Our
company would not achieve its current status as a premiere theatre company in
the country without you.
Ang Katatawanan ng Kalituhan opens Dulaang UPs 41st theatre season in
celebration of William Shakespeares 400th death anniversary. This staging
features Guelan Varela-Luarcas Filipino translation of one of Shakespeares
earliest plays, The Comedy of Errors, a cleverly crafted tale of mistaken
identities, loves lost and found, families gone astray and made whole again.
In line with this, we highly encourage you to consider making Ang
Katatawanan ng Kalituhan one of your must-see events this semester.
Alexander Cortez, who is known for his deft handling of Shakespearean plays
(DUPs Macbeth and Richard III), directs the play. The production boasts of a
formidable and talented artistic team: Dr. Judy Ick (dramaturgy), Gino Gonzales
(costume design), Ohm David (set design), Meliton Roxas, Jr. (technical direction
and lights design), Jethro Joaquin (sound and music design), Patrick John
Rebullida (choreography), Winter David (video design), Jojit Lorenzo
(photography) and Paolo Santillan (art direction for photography and poster
design).
Ang Katatawanan ng Kalituhan runs from August 24 to September 11, 2016
at the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theatre, 2 nd Floor Palma Hall, U.P. Diliman, Quezon
City.
Regular tickets are priced at Php 500.00 each. UP Diliman faculty members and
enrolled students are entitled to a discounted price of Php 200.00 upon presentation
of a valid U.P. ID. We have attached the productions information sheet for your
perusal.
