INAUGURAL ADDRESS OF PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE

I have no friends to serve; I have no enemies to harm

Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the 16 th president of the Republic of the Philippines

delivered his inaugural address at Rizal Hall, Malacanan Palace.
The speech was brief but broad. It encompasses the ideals and aspirations of
President Duterte. He assured observance to due process and to the rule of law. The
administration assured the cooperation with international community and his battle
against criminality.
The way he delivered his speech is very presidentiable. We heard no cursing or
cussing. His language is eloquent like a noble, full of honor and courage. I think that we
are seeing a different Mayor digong to President Duterte.
The Unification
No Leader, however strong can succeed at anything of national importance
unless he has support and cooperation of people he is asked to lead and sworn.
President Duterte cited the imperative confederation of the people as to whom
democratic government draws its strength. He understands the grief, agony and distrust
of the people towards the government. I think the key for the unification of our country
can be achieved by symbiotic relationship of the people and the government. Freedom
of expression in any form consonance with the constitution is one way of addressing
irregularities by the government. I think with the Duterte administration, people with
different creed, religion, custom language etc. will be unified to achieve a single goal.

Against Criminality
I know that there are those who do not approve of my methods of fighting
criminality. They say that my methods are unorthodox and verge on the illegal
President Dutertes stance against criminality especially on the cases of illegal
drugs remained to be unfazed. He emphasizes how illegal drugs destroyed individuals,
ruined family and will continue to harm the society. On fighting crimininality he reminded
that as a lawyer he knows what is legal to what is not. He reiterated that if the criminal
would resist violently and would place the life of the law enforcer or the military man in
danger, shoot them. On the Article 11 of the revised penal code provides that any
person who acts in the fulfillment of a duty or in the lawful exercise of a right or office. I
think that his adherence to the rule of law will always be observed.
From The Words of F.D. Roosevelt and Lincoln
The test of government is not whether we add more to the abundance of those
who have much; it is whether we provide for those who have little F.D. Roosevelt
Education, healthcare, agriculture, employment, business opportunities, and
improving the delivery of social services to the less privileged are the programs of
President Duterte. The Dutertes administration will be giving outmost promotion of less
privileged ones on a better standard living.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the poor by discouraging the
rich. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down wage power. You cannot further
the brotherhood by inciting class hatred among men
Coincidentally Lincoln is also the 16 th President of the United States of America,
on which he borrowed his quotes. The Article 3 sec 1 of the 1987 constitution provides
that no person shall be deprived of his life liberty and property without due process of
law nor shall any person be denied to the equal protection of the laws. I think that
President Duterte will serve all Filipino without inequality as he is the President of all,
elected by many and driven by one goal, our countrys prosperity.

His Battlecry and the future of the Philippines

Tapang at Malasakit
President duterte is a great movement leader who is both feared and loved.
Feared because of his strong stance against criminality and irregularities. Loved, for his
integrity, bravery and even his humor. Above all other things his love from our country
and to our fellow Filipino people. I think that this Tapang and Malasakit would be the
principle of this generation and our public servants.
I think that the next six years would make a change. When we truly see the
output of the hardwork and patriotism of our countrymen. When the cadence of poverty,
corruption and illegal drugs finally beat its end. May our country be great again.
