Lycium chinense

Perennial woody shrub. The fruit is tomato-like, thin-skinned, sweet and very red.
Dried fruit nourishes the vital essence, tonifys liver and kidneys. Cultivation: Extra
care. Remove the seeds from the fruit and sow in pots in the greenhouse. Use a
sand/loam potting soil. Germ in 8-12 days. Thin to 1 plant per pot. Grow out for a
year in the pot, then transplant. Does best in dry desert climates. Frost hardy. Space
at least 4 feet apart. Grows to 3 feet tall.
