! PRE CHECK
Lift plan is present and understood
Crane is undamaged and is correctly positioned (i.e. mobile crane)

Emergency stop is present and functional and all hooks have been individually
identified
Crane has enough space to manoeuvre and hoist safely

Weather conditions are appropriate for crane hoisting

Crane driver is certified/approved to hoist

DO
Use correct Personal Protective Equipment that is in good condition
Secure the area with barriers (e.g. red-white barrier tape)

Hoist from directly over the load

Secure load tightly
Adhere to the approved amount of weight to be lifted safely with the crane
Move the crane slowly and carefully

DO NOT
Exceed dynamic and/or static capacities of the lifting equipment

Lift persons
Leave a hoist loaded and hanging in the air or tip a load
Stand under a loaded hoist or pass a load over persons

Raise loads higher than necessary to clear objects

Always use your common sense before and during the performance of your task
