! PRE CHECK
Equipment has been completely isolated, grounded and locked out (according
to LOTO procedure)
Safety Tagging or other warning boards on main switch are present
Area has been secured with red-white barrier tape and warning signs Danger Energised Equipment
Insulation is present and in good working order when working under energised
installation parts

Test, as much as possible, with power off and equipment unplugged

DO
Use correct Personal Protective Equipment that is in good condition
Turn off distribution/control panel
Use a non-conducting ladder when working with and near electrical installations
Isolate loose wire ends
Treat circuit as live until you have proved it is dead

Report unsafe behaviour or unsafe situations immediately

DO NOT
Undertake any electrical work if you are not qualified
Use metal ladders, wire reinforced side rail wooden ladders, metal scaffolds or
metal work platforms

Use portable appliances unless they have been provided with proper plug and
socket connections
Work alone
Attempt repair work when you are tired

Always use your common sense before and during the performance of your task
