A correct ladder is used (stabilizer at bottom to prevent ladder from falling)
The ladder has been inspected (i.e. check label)
The ladder has been correctly positioned and secured
The ladder is at the right height for the job
Weather conditions are appropriate for working on ladders

DO

Use correct Personal Protective Equipment that is in good condition


Secure the area with red-white barrier tape
Use spacers when working near windows
Always have 3 contact points (both hands and 1 foot or both feet and 1
hand)
Work facing forwards
Work with the ladder at the right angle (slope)

DO NOT

Use ladders for any other purpose


Overreach to complete a task
Work standing on ladders for over 4 hours a day
Work near electrical or overhead hazards
Present a hazard to traffic or passers by
