2.3 Interpretation of Collected Data:

According to the data we collected, we have found that most of the students think that
"Compensation/pay" is the most important factor for job satisfaction. For the second they prefer
"Career development opportunities" and "Career advancement opportunities" for the third.
"Flexibility to balance life and work issues" comes in the fourth rank and "Autonomy and
independence" takes up the fifth rank in the series.
2.4 The Possible Reason Behind the Students Choosing the Selected Factors
We theorize that, the reason behind the selection of the top five job factors depends on the
demographic, social and personal lives of the students.
Unlike any other universities, Students of Jahangirnagar University have a high rate of ambition
and expectations. Besides, many of our students come from various parts of the country. That is
why "Compensation/pay" is the first most important job factor for them, as they want to improve
their current condition as fast as possible.
After getting the right amount of salary, they look for opportunities to "develop" and "advance"
their careers. This is because the students of Jahangirnagar University are fast learners and are
always keen to better their conditions whenever they get the chance.
Working hard, though brings money to the household, it also creates monotony. This is why the
students want ""Flexibility to balance life and work issues". And then, "Autonomy and
independence" takes up the final place because they want to balance their personal and work
life with freedom and independence. The students of Jahangirnagar University have free spirits
and are very broad minded. The main reason behind this is the natural environment of the
university campus. Jahangirnagar University has one of the most beautiful and naturally rich
campuses in Bangladesh and living in such a amazing place broadens a student's mind. That is
why students want their own free space and do not like to be dictated or controlled for long
periods of time.
This is our interpretation and observation from the data we have collected and also the informal
interview from each of the candidates. What the students said can be summarized into what we
have stated above.

3.0 Conclusion

The studies that we have conducted leads us to the fact that different students have different
goals and objectives set in mind. Their thoughts regarding their career and future job is
changing and shifting each day. However, even if the expectations and aspirations differ from
person to person, a few attributes can be found that are similar regardless of the aspects of
background, culture and mentality. Which brings us to our small research about their
preferences about job factors. We have also been able to find out the reasons behind their
choices and figured out the relation between them. We can now successfully state that we have
found out the five job factors that these sample of students find most important.
