6.5 LC-A

6.5.1 General
LC-A (LifeCycle Administrator*) is the optional system to
support the main engine for preventive maintenance by
diagnosing the condition for it automatically base on
machine learning and technical know-how from the data
of engine data logger on vessel.
In addition, LC-A have the cloud computing and facilitate
information sharing in offshore area by online
communications network.
* LC-A (LifeCycle Administrator) is produced by Diesel
United, Ltd. (DU).

(2) Optimum Setting


Based on the Condition Index, Optimum Setting
automatically and continuously recommends
properly setting value of cylinder oil feed rate, fuel
injection timing and scavenging air temperature
according to actual condition of each parts.
This function contributes to save operation cost
saving safely.
(3) Trouble Shooting (Expert System)
When Trouble Shooting receives information of
abnormality, it automatically lists up relevant parts or
possible causes of failure according to the measured
data and so on.
Then, this system clearly indicates where the parts
are installed on engine by picture and/or sketch and
what should be done for checking and recovery by
instruction.
Faster recover action can be found easily.
(4) Maintenance Planning (Advanced System)
Maintenance Planning helps maintenance
management work as scheduling, making report and
history management.
This system makes consumable parts list for the
maintenance and gives relevant instruction manual,
report format and documents.

6.5.3 Required date from data logger (for reference)


LC-A acquires the data of table A and B from the data
logger. In addition, table A and B are free to be modified
according to the specification of vessel.

6.5.2 Function
LC-A software consists of following functions, and it
provides unified life cycle support.
(1) Automatic Condition Diagnosis
The automatic condition diagnosis system calculates
Condition Index by the related measurements and
inspection results using unique developed logic.
Condition Index shows condition of relevant parts
or functions.
Condition Index is evaluated on a grade of 10 scale
and it can make the trend diagnosis and estimation
time for maintenance etc.
If the Condition Index is over than certain value, the
system gives warning and well-chosen
inspection/check procedure to help trouble shooting.
