ASEAN was founded on 08 Aug 1967 in Bangkok by the 5 Member countries.

The contexts of ASEAN are Conflict Poor Communism and

ASEAN aim is to accelerate economic growth, social


progress and cultural development in region and also
promote regional peace and stability.
. The ASEAN Leaders adopted the Declaration of ASEAN Concord II (Bali
Concord II) in Bali,

October 2003 to establish an
ASEAN Community by 2020. The ASEAN Community
shall be established comprising three pillars, namely political and security
community, economic
community, and socio-cultural community, which are in
the purpose of ensuring durable peace, stability, and shared prosperity in
the region.
As the first group clarified two parts of ASEAN community already, I would
like to remind all of u more of them because they are in ASEAN community
areas.
ASEAN Political-Security Community peaceful processes in the
settlement of intra-regional differences and it has the following
components: political development, shaping and sharing of norms, conflict
prevention, conflict resolution, post-conflict peace building, and
implementing mechanisms
ASEAN Economic Community - creating a stable, prosperous and highly
competitive ASEAN economic region in which there is a free flow of goods,
services, investment and a freer flow of capital, equitable economic
development and reduced poverty and socio-economic disparities in year
2020;

ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community - envisages a community of caring


societies and founded on a common regional identity, with cooperation
focused on social development aimed at raising the standard of living of
disadvantaged groups and the rural population, and shall seek the active
involvement of all sectors of society, in particular women, youth, and local
communities
The aim of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) is to contribute to achieving an
ASEAN Community that is people-oriented and socially responsible to fulfil long lasting
solidarity and unity amongst the people and Member States of ASEAN

, how it will benefit the private sector to do business in the region and the progress of each
country towards this ambitious goal.

The ASCC will address the regions aspiration to lift the quality
of life of its peoples through
cooperative activities that are people-oriented and
environmentally friendly geared towards the
promotion of sustainable development. The ASCC shall
contribute to building a strong foundation
for greater understanding, good neighbourliness, and a shared
sense of responsibility.
6. The ASCC is characterised by a culture of regional resilience,
adherence to agreed
principles, spirit of cooperation, collective responsibility, to
promote human and social development,
respect for fundamental freedoms, gender equality, the
promotion and protection of human rights
and the promotion of social justice.
7. The ASCC shall respect the different cultures, languages, and
religions of the peoples of
ASEAN emphasise their common values in the spirit of unity in
diversity and adapt them to present
realities, opportunities and challenges.
8. The ASCC will also focus on the social dimension of Narrowing
the Development Gap
(NDG) towards bridging the development gap among Member States.
