Apostrophes and commas are marvellous

! The apostrophe rules

, but most people struggle with them.

Quite simply, never add them for plurals, and always add them for
contractions, which means letters are missing, or ownership, to
show possession. Wow! That sentence was quite long! Luckily,
we have our friend the comma, to help break up long, unwieldy
sentences. Commas are useful to separate things like clauses, or
items on a list. For example, if I was going shopping, and had to
buy chocolate, milk, butter and bread. Its easy to see how you
could get confused without commas! Somebody I used to know at
school, wrote that her hobbies were, cooking dogs and reading
if she had only used a comma between the words cooking
and dogs, it wouldnt have sounded so alarming! Now Im
going to use a whole bunch of examples with it, which as you
know, is a pronoun. Pronouns are very simple because one of the
apostrophe rules doesnt apply to pronouns its the apostrophe
are quite simple to master

rule of possession. See if you can spot possessive pronouns in

the following sentences:
1. Why do you always protect its head?

2. Who s been eating my porridge?

3. Its face was very angry

4. If you ve come this far

well!

, its fair to say youre doing very
