You must time-stamp all one-way tickets and 10-trip tickets

in Validators located near TVMs just before boarding light rail
cars. To time-stamp your ticket, insert it into the time-stamp
machine with the print side up and the NJ TRANSIT logo facing
to the left. The machine will date and time stamp your ticket.

After you have time-stamped your ticket, simply get on board

and ride. Each ticket is good for a single ride in one continuous
direction of travel. NJ TRANSIT Fare Enforcement Officers
make random ticket inspections on vehicles and at stations.
Keep your ticket handy until exiting your station of destination,
as you may be asked to show your ticket more than once
during your trip. If you are a senior citizen or passenger with
a disability and are traveling with a reduced fare ticket, you
must provide a valid form of ID upon request.

Each ticket must be validated individually just before use.
Transfers Passengers may purchase a one-way ticket with
a transfer to a connecting NJ TRANSIT bus for travel within
the State of New Jersey at TVMs. You may pay for a one-way
ticket with a transfer on board an NJ TRANSIT bus to make
connections to River LINE trains. Be sure to hold on to your
transfer until you reach your final destination.
Senior Citizens (62 and Older) and Passengers with
Disabilities can travel at a reduced fare of one-half the
regular one-way fare or less at all times. Seniors may be asked
to present a valid ID (any ID or document printed with
date-of-birth and issued by a government, social service, or
mass transportation agency). Also valid: the MTA Reduced Fare
Card; PA Senior Citizen Transit ID or PACE Card; Senior Fare
Card; or Medicare Card. Passengers with disabilities must
present an NJ TRANSIT Reduced Fare ID or Medicare Card.
Childrens Fares Small kids, small fares: ages 5-11 save at
least 50% on regular one-way fares; 4 and under (up to three
children) ride free with a passenger paying any valid fare.
Family SuperSaver Fares Family-friendly NJ TRANSIT allows
two children ages 5-11 to ride free with a passenger paying
any valid fareweekends and holidays from 7pm Friday (or
day before a holiday) to 6am Monday (or day after a holiday).
Commuter Tax Benefit Programs: Set aside up to $245 per
month in pre-tax salary and save up to $1,000 annually on

Bicycles, Segways, and In-Line Skates

Bicycles and Segways are permitted on-board
River LINE light rail cars at all times. Passengers
with bicycles and Segways will be confined to the
low floor vestibule section of the vehicle. They
must not be left unaccompanied, block aisles, be
placed on empty seats, or cause inconvenience to
other passengers. Users must hold or secure the
bicycle or Segway. The kickstand of the bicycle must
remain up at all times. Hanging racks are available
for bicycles on the River LINE. Segway users must
walk their Segway on and off the train and may not
ride on board. Cyclists or Segway users must allow
other passengers to exit and enter the vehicle before
boarding.

throw objects at light rail cars.
A valid proof of payment is required to ride. A time-stamped

Ticket Vending Machine ticket, continuing trip ticket or an
NJT or Burlink bus transfer are considered proof of payment.
A monthly light rail pass, a monthly or weekly NJ TRANSIT Rail
pass (imprinted with a zone number), or any NJ TRANSIT onezone (or higher) Bus pass, are valid to ride. Follow the easy

Transfer between Burlink and River LINE You can

purchase a River LINE ticket/transfer to also ride on the
BurLink Shuttle! Simply give your valid ticket (or show your
monthly pass) to the bus operator when boarding. To connect
from BurLink to the River LINE, ask your shuttle bus operator
for a free transfer.
gettting you there
Below are guides for bus and rail connections available to

River LINE customers. See the map on this timetable for
specific connections.
NJ TRANSIT bus service is available from locations near
most light rail stations. These connecting services are shown
on the stick map on the inside of this timetable. In addition,
there are great connections and fare options for traveling
to Philadelphia via connecting NJ TRANSIT bus service in
Camden.
Capital Connection Traveling between the Trenton Rail
Station and Downtown Trenton or the State House? Capital
Connection will get you there! Just look for buses and
bus stops marked with the Capital logo. For schedule information, pick up a Capital Connection timetable, or check
njtransit.com for information on bus route numbers
601, 606, 608, 609 and 619.
BurLink operates shuttle bus service in Burlington County
from several stations along the River LINE. 856-596-8228
South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA) operates
shuttle buses and vans to worksites in Burlington, Camden,
and Gloucester counties. 856-427-0988
Northeast Corridor River LINE customers can make
connections to Northeast Corridor trains at Trenton Station
for trips to Newark and New York and other intermediate
station stops in New Jersey.
Atlantic City Rail Line River LINE customers can make
connections to Atlantic City Rail Line trains at the new
Pennsauken Transit Center station. They should be sure to
plan their connecting trips in advance. Customers can also
travel to the Walter Rand Transportation Center and ride
PATCO to Lindenwold Station. There they can connect to the
Atlantic City Rail Line and available NJ TRANSIT bus service
(NJT #554) to reach Atlantic City or points in between.
Amtrak provides national train service from Trenton
or 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. 800-USA-RAIL
PATCO offers rail service from the Walter Rand
Transportation Center in Camden to Lindenwold, NJ
and Center City, Philadelphia. 856-772-6900
SEPTA operates bus, subway, elevated routes, trolley, and
regional rail service in Philadelphia and five surrounding
