ANALYSIS AND DESIGN

OF BUILDINGS USING
ETABS 2015 Level I
Overview
ETABS is an integrated software package for the structural analysis and design of buildings. The software offers excellent 3D
object based modeling and visualization tools, linear and nonlinear analytical power, sophisticated and comprehensive design
capabilities for a wide-range of materials, reports, and schematic drawings that allow users to quickly and easily decipher and
understand analysis and design results.
ETABS integrates every aspect of the engineering design process. Include nonlinear modeling techniques such as construction
sequencing and time effects (e.g., creep and shrinkage). Design of steel and concrete frames (with automated optimization),
composite beams, composite columns, steel joists, concrete and masonry shear walls, capacity check for steel connections and
base plates and more.
The advantage of a ETABS software as compared to others, is that their characteristics are specific to the design of buildings so
that the whole language will be aimed at these objectives and, subsequently, the new versions will grow on issues of drawings
and updates required by codes (AISC 360 & 341, ACI 318, among others)
