Entrepreneurship (TPHE)

The Department of Placement & training is established as a
separate entity. The Department comprises of team members
Vivek Ranjan Bhandary; Guyton Lobo; Vandana Shankar and
Chandappa who are in turn, ably supported by the respective
departmental co-ordinators for both training and placements.
While Mr. Vivek Bhandary acts as a Mentor and System Architect,
Mr Guyton Lobo manages the placement activities and Ms
Vandana Shankar oversees VIKAS our flagship training program.
The Department presently coordinates with all the leading
organizations which recruits Engineers/Techno crafts and GET for
entry level positions in their respective organizations.
This year we had 50+ renowned organizations who visited the
campus to conduct their recruitment process. We have offered
close to 350 offers made through 80 odd opportunities by the pool
campus and VCET efforts. The number will be a record to boot for
placements when we reach the closing stages of campus drives
for 2015-2016.
We operate drives both at the pool and VCET level for our
students. Infosys was Day 1 at the pool and Tech Mahindra at the
college level. The Placement department of VCET, today has
made its mark in the region for its core engineering placement
opportunities.
The VIKAS Training Programme is offered to students on the skills
needed for a career in the corporate world. The Training is offered
on different dimensions of individual development and is spread
over the 1st , 2nd & 3rd year. The training is offered by our training
partners who are rich in experience & sound on the knowledge of
the pedagogical aspects of personality development. Business
English Communication is offered on Verbal, Written, and listening
skills in the first and second semester of their course.

During the final year of their course, training programs are

conducted on behavioral aspects, grooming, resume writing,
mock personal interviews and mock group discussions to prepare
them for facing corporate recruitment processes. The training
partner trains on aptitude which consists quantitative, reasoning,
verbal ability, data interpretation and problem solving areas.
The Department organizes talks from experienced professionals
for taking competitive exams like GATE, CAT, GMAT, etc to
enhance placement and higher studies.
VCET has singed a MoU with INFOSYS under the INFOSYS CAMPUS
CONNECT. The Campus Connect offers a variety of programs viz.
Technical training, Soft skills training, SPARK- Industrial Visit,
Aspirations 2020- Inter- college tech fest, Road shows, Seminars,
webinars, sabbaticals, train-the trainer, etc for students as well as
faculty.
The TPHE hosted the Indian Navy campus drive, to the
satisfaction level of the Navy recruitment team. The department
hosts Indian Army regularly.
A few major companies which provided opportunities this year are
: India Navy; Infosys, Tech Mahindra; Global edge software, Aris
Global, Maventic, Cadence, Agrima, Talrak, PropGod, Aktis
Engineering, Trevini Turbines and Atlanta elevators to name a few.
