Hazard Mitigation
Plan Update
1

Project Background
Funding

Communities need to adopt a Hazard Mitigation Plan to be eligible for

FEMA Mitigation Project Grants
In order to adopt the plan each jurisdiction must participate in the planning
process
Must include specific mitigation strategies supported by each jurisdiction

The plan must be updated every

5 years to maintain approval
eligibility.

Project Background

The current 2008 Plan has expired. This is an

update based on information from that plan.

After the plan is complete it will be sent to

the state & FEMA for review.

The plan should only be adopted after a

favorable review from FEMA.
