New ways of learning are now available and improved access is one of the
most important benefits. People all around the world are experiencing improved
mobility result of the freedom and potential that online learning provides and formal
academic education are becoming increasingly legimate. There are bunch of articles
written talking about this topic recently. Therefore, it would be appealing if I review
two articles which discuss the topic mentioned but they are written with individual
focuses. The title of article A is an analysis of student self-assessment of online,
blended, and face to face learning environments: implications for sustainable
education delivery and the title of article B is the transition from traditional face to
face teaching to blended learning: implications and challenges from a mathematics
discipline perspective.
Online and blended learning giving people new choices and new found
flexibility with their personal learning and development especially student. Whereas
before, formal academic such traditional learning face to face qualifications could
only be gained by participating in a full time course on site. Generally, students find
to be important in ensuring quality learning outcome in three ways which is online,
blended and face to face learning. However, the focus is more on online learning
where online learning gives variety of teaching modalities. Meanwhile, the changing
of face to face teaching to blended learning in mathematics field has been
recognized as complex due to the visual nature of discipline.
Furthermore, without considering the general informational exposure that the
internet delivers, online academic courses and learning initiatives are becoming
more aware of the needs of students where in online leaning, it provides a
sustainable vehicle for delivery of education. Also, ensuring a high degree of
student satisfaction. I am so agree with this kind of effective materials for students
anyway since online learning is the most effective and convenient way to learn.
Besides, online leaning technologies is the current reality that faces many people all

over the world. With just an Internet connection, a person can attend different
courses. Among the advantages of online learning there are the responsibility and
self-discipline of students.
Unfortunately, there is a doubt in online or blended learning process where
the complex subject such as mathematics is complicated to learn because it needs
a lot of practical practices in classroom. Besides, to study mathematics, it is
required to have a discussion face to face in class rather than one way
communication online. Based on my very own experience, in order to understand
more carefully about mathematics, onsite learning is more beneficial method that
works for student because it is happening spontaneously between student and
lecturer ahead where the questions and answer are on the spot given. Therefore, I
think, mathematics subjects is not compulsory to be done in online or blended
learning

because

In addition, the similarities of the articles A and B are both about online
learning and their benefits to student. It is also explained about the beneficial of
online learning and traditional face to face learning. Also, it is stated about online
learning is the effective ways in helping student to achieve better in education. This
kind of similarities are very obvious written in both of the articles.
On the other hand, the differences between both articles are very
contradictory. For article A, It is about the student self-assessment of online,
blended, and face to face learning environments which is related to the implications
for sustainable education delivery. While articles B, it is about transition from
traditional face to face teaching to blended learning which related to the
implications and challenges from a mathematics discipline perspective. This mostly
tells me about the way of studying mathematics through online learning.
In conclusion, online learning should be seen as a complement and extension
of classical forms of learning. Not even the best online course can fully replace the
personal contact with a teacher, or the human relationships that develop in a group.
So, traditional classes shouldnt be replaced with online learning.
This articles is quiet useful for students and any employers out there because
this articles have their advantages and disadvantages itself so people can choose

their best learning environment. Learning is often considered to be a normal part of

working and personal life. Both learning for achieving a job as well as for achieving
knowledge should not be neglected. This articles is worth reading because it is
something we should know to manage our knowledge well in using online learning
as part of in our life.
