Please send along with this form copies of recommendations from churches which will encourage
other churches to support your missionary work. There are churches which will not allow a
visiting missionary to speak unless a church recommendation can be shown. Since it is impos
sible for any one person to know all Christians in the world, this recommendation by a respon
sible New Testament church is a vital help in persuading others of your worthiness and the value
of your mission. Mission Services stands ready to help you inform HORIZONS readers about
your church recommendations. Since the church is sending you to the mission field (Acts 13:1-3)
and will help provide the necessary needs on the field, naturally the church should share the
credit in your missionary ministry. One of the ways that the church can do this is to share their
conviction regarding your missionary ministry with others. Certainly, their words will help
convince others regarding the worthiness of your work. Please help MISSION SERVICES to

spread your news through HORIZONS, Packets and Slide library by sending your church recom
mendations as soon as possible. Thanks. Send what you have now, and the others later.

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM NORM DUNGAN

It has long been my dream to go to Mexico as a missionary.

For seven years I lived in Yuma, Arizona, thirty miles from
the International Border.

College took me away from home, but

Mexico was never completely out of my mind.

Then, in the

summer of 1966, my wife, Mary, and I made a tour of a number

of mission stations in Mexico, and our desire to enter the

mission.work there was further strengthened.

Particularly

helpful and encouraging were the Clinton Looney family,

missionaries who live in the town of San Miguel de Allende
and work in the surrounding five-state area.

Now Mary is about to receive her teaching certificate in

Elementary Education from Austin Peay State University in
Clarksville, Tennessee;

and in June I will have completed my

third year as Instructor in English at the same institution.

At that time we will begin to raise our support; our goal is
to enter Mexico by the first of September.
We plan to spend our first few years on the field as
teachers in the English-speaking school in Queretaro, a

city of 100,000 people, which is situated just over 100 miles

north of Mexico City.

several objectives:

During that time we hope to accomplish

(1) do intensive language studyI need to

do brush-up work and expand my vocabulary, while Mary must

build upon her one semester of college Spanish;

many contacts as possible through our positions;

(2) make as

(3) try to

procure permanent visas?

and (^) work with the one English-

speaking congregation in Queretaro, where Clinton Looney now

preaches regularly.

During this period we plan to work very

closely with the Looneys, assisting them in any way we can

and trying to benefit from their experience.

After this

introductory period, oT^e:^hopec.to; bersufficie^itlyo

work. c7anii:c-lis

Our needs include $^00 per month living link and; ore i- : .
#100 per month service link support.

We hope to be able to

purchase a pickup and camper unit before we enter the field.

On the field it will be used for emergency, temporary housing

inpQtieretaro and for evangelistic work (protracted.outingsI:to

rural areas); in the U.S.A. it will be used for furlough,
fund-raising, and public-relations travel.

If we are &ble tor

secure positions as teachers in Mexico, all income beyond

normal living expenses will be put into the service link fund.

For the present, all inquiries and contributions may be

sent directly to us at:
