Sugar Cookies
Im so bored! Theres nothing to do for the whole
afternoon, Tim said. Dont say that, Emily hushed. How
would that make Grandma feel if she knew you thought
that way? It might hurt her feelings.
You can help me bake some sugar cookies! Grandma
called. She had overheard their conversation. I had
planned to bake before you came. Now it will be more fun
cooking with you.
First they gathered all the things they needed.
They found measuring cups and spoons, a mixing bowl,
cookie cutters,
and a baking sheet. Then they found the butter, sugar,
vanilla, eggs,
milk , flour, and salt.
Tim helped Grandma mix the sugar and butter. After
Grandma broke an egg and poured it into the bowl, Emily
stirred until the mixture was smooth. With help from
Grandma, Tim added the flour and salt. Emily poured in
milk from a cup and added the vanilla. Now everything was
mixed.
