TAREA 4.2 How do Air Conditioners work?

A air conditionating of type split is making for

one unit indoor, which is compounding for an
evaporator, too called split and expansion valve.
And other part called unit outdoor, which is
compounding in turn for one compressor and a
condenser.
The unit indoor and the unit outdoor is
connected by two tubing of copper, which cross
trought the wall.

The principle in the refrigeration cycle, heat is

transported from a colder location to a hotter
area.As heat would naturally flow in the opposite
direction, work is required to achieve this. Next
explain the process of work of a air conditioning

The refrigerant is used as the medium which

absorbs and removes heat from the space to be
cooled and subsequently rejects that heat
elsewhere. Hot refrigerant in form of vapor enters
the compresor and is compressed to a higher
pressure, resulting in a higher temperature as
well. The hot, compressed refrigerant vapor is now
at a temperature and pressure at which it can be
condensed and is routed through acondenser.
Here it is cooled by air flowing across the
condenser coils and condensed into a liquid. Thus,
the circulating refrigerant removes heat from the
system and the heat is carried away by the air.The
condensed and pressurized liquid refrigerant is
next routed through an expansion valve where it
undergoes an abrupt reduction in pressure. That
pressure reduction results in flash evaporation of
a part of the liquid refrigerant, lowering its
temperature. The cold refrigerant is then routed
through the evaporator. A fan blows the warm air
(which is to be cooled) across the evaporator,
causing the liquid part of the cold refrigerant
mixture to evaporate as well, further lowering the
temperature. The warm air is therefore cooled.
To complete the refrigeration cycle, the refrigerant

vapor is routed back into the compressor.

In the pink area (zone 3-4), we can to see

refrigerant in form liquid, which cross from the
compressor exit to the expansion valve. This
zone is the higger pressure area of the device.
In the green area (zone 1-2), we can to see
vapor refrigerant in form of vapor, which cross
from expansion valve to the compressor start.
This zone is the lower pressure.
