courage to complete this project. It was a great experience of our group members
(HINA SARWAR, HABIB ULLAH, AFZAAL HUSSAIN, IQRA IRSHAD, and RIZWAN

Executive summary

We have conducted training upon the topic HEALTH &


SAFETY. We got very good response from the school management and
teachers of the school. We are team of five members. Each member has
given equal contribution of work in this training. The environment of class for
training was very supportive and congenial. We conducted a very good and
brief session of one and half hour training. Students learnt a lot from this
training. They participated very well in all the activities that we conducted
regarding our topic. We present our training topics in the form of power point
slides, images of different signs and videos related to the topic. Our course
instructor has helped us a lot to conduct and design the training. The class
teacher was very much impressed from our training style and the topic
which we have chosen for this session. At the end student and teachers gave
the feedback regarding our training. They enjoyed a lot the activities that we
conducted and all the things that we have presented during the session. It
was a very good experience for us.

Introduction to training
We will give training to facilitate the students of Govt. Pilot secondary
school in order to make them aware about the importance of health and
safety. After the training session they are capable enough to cope with the
situation easily where these skills will required.

Training

Objectives:
The training is aimed at heighten awareness of basic health and safety
issues among students. This training program is focused on the health and
safety rights and responsibilities of students and teachers.

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?


This training is for all students in the school from 6th class to 10th class but
we trained students of 7th class because of its availability.

Health and safety training objectives may be to:

Reduce or eliminate the number of health issues and injuries in school


as well as outside school
Reduce hazards and risks.
Improve behavior

Training conditions:
We have chosen to give training in the class room. The training will be
lecture based. There will be role playing activities. Different videos will be
shown to students to convey the right message of health & safety. We will
use creative activities or games or games that relate to the training content.
By the end of this health and safety awareness program, students
should be able to:

STEP 1: Get on Board

Why students are important to be aware of health and safety issues and
where they fit in the internal responsibility system by describing their roles,
responsibilities

STEP 2: Get in the Know The right to know


We will explain that students have the right to know about hazards and how
to live safely, using the most common hazards and diseases as examples.

STEP 3: Get Involved The right to participate


There will be role playing activities students will perform the roles which will
be given to them. These activities will be very productive. We will give
examples of ways that how they can participate.

STEP 4: Get More Help where to go for help


We will explain that they can ask or go to their teacher or supervisor when
they need help with health and safety.

Matching training room with learning requirements:


Learning that require is high collaboration and high self-direction and for this we
need classrooms, breakout rooms, project or conference rooms.

Training Need Assessment:


A needs assessment is a systematic process for determining and addressing
needs, or "gaps" between current conditions and desired conditions or
"wants". The discrepancy between the current condition and wanted
condition must be measured to appropriately identify the need. The need
can be a desire to improve current performance or to correct a deficiency.

Selected School for Training:


The school which we select for training is Govt. Pilot secondary school.

Reason of choosing this school:


It is a public sector school. And public sector schools are not facilitated as
compared to private sector schools. So these types of activities are not
performing commonly in the public sector schools.

Assessment method:
The method which we adopt for assessment as per convenience is the Direct
Interview with the Principal of the school and the teachers. We have not
directly interact with the students of the school because there final
examination were over and new classes were about to start after one week
of papers.

TNA process:
Organizational analysis
It is a public sector school, and its headmaster and teachers are willing to
provide this training to their students because they want their students
healthy in the school as well outside the school.

Personal analysis
We have not interacted with the students directly but their students
representatives show willingness for this training. According to them this
kind of activity is very much essential for them because they have to face
many circumstances in daily routine life where this training matters a lot.

Task analysis
We will give them training in the below mentioned topic to facilitate the
students in order to make them aware about the importance of health and
safety. After the training session they will be capable enough to cope with
the situation easily where these skills will required.

We give them two different topics which are being described as following:

Health and safety

But the principal and other teachers have recommended us to give training
on the topic Health & Safety

Why health and safety training is important:

Develop a positive health & safety culture

Avoid the distress and financial costs of accidents & ill health.

Health and Safety training in schools is important and necessary to support


the academic success of each child, giving them the opportunity to learn and
achieve in a safe and nurturing environment.

Target Audience
Our target audience was students of 7 th class because by this, they can
guide their other fellows as well as family members.

Training methods

Training in the classroom


We have chosen to give training in the class room. That
will be easy for us to manage the things.

Lecture Based
The training will be lecture based, that will be given by
our group fellows. They will be act as a trainer

Question answer sessions


Some questions will be asked from the students
regarding the training.

Role playing activities


There will be role playing activities too students will
perform the roles which will be given to them. These activities will be
very productive.

Videos
Different videos will be shown to students to convey the
right message of health & safety.

For evaluation purpose we basically use different criteria we take feedback


from students as well as their course instructor. According to students and
their teacher its a very interactive section and its very knowledgeable and
they learned a lot.
From over direct observation we observe great difference in students
behavior .They are highly motivated to attend this session and students play
different role that increase their confidence and now they are more
knowledgeable about their health and safety issues and how to cope with
them effectively and efficiently.
We use Reaction criteria that is is one of the criteria of Kirkpatricks frame
work of evaluation. Its include trainees satisfaction with the instructors,
training material, as well as the clarity of training objective and usefulness of
training content. Our trainees are satisfied with all these things. We take
feedback from them at the end of this session. Students acquire a lot of
knowledge and skills and we observe change in their behavior and attitude.

Students perform, and they have a better understanding of the actual


learning that took place.

Discussions and Recommendations:

We noticed that there must be a training program time to time


regarding health and safety.
The training was very interactive as students had somewhat
knowledge about different health and safety issues but we observed
they do not implement these in their daily routine.
There should be real situation provided by school, so that student can
actually implement their learning for example learning about fire
fighter, road safety rules etc.
Teachers should act as silent observer so that they can check students
daily routine about health and cleanliness.
There should be such environment which enable learning and personal
development.
Students mostly adopt from their friends, classmates and other age
fellows so when training is given to one class so it can spread.
Teachers have more dark impression on students mind than a visitor
trainer so in our recommendations teacher should advise and remind
the students again and again that either they are coming up with all
the things which they have learned in their previous training.
In school there should be availability of first-aid treatment.
Principal and teachers must take all reasonably practicable measures
with a view to eliminating excessive physical and mental fatigue
among students

Our training session is really useful according to students and their course
instructor point of view. They are satisfied and really impress with our efforts
and really appreciate us for this activity but according to our perspective we
will do better if we are equipped with more equipments and facilities. We
also time bound.
