Semi Detailed Lesson Plan in

Computer Grade 11

Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. Identify the different types of Lasso tools
b. Define the different types of Lasso tools
c. Follow the right procedures in making selections with Lasso tools.
d. Appreciate the benefits of developing skills in making selections with
Lasso tools.
e. Move a picture to a different background or setting correctly.

Materials : laptop or desk top computer, pictures of a person and
leaves.

2. Motivation
Show a picture that displays one person with two different
backgrounds.

Guide Questions:

What can you observe in the two pictures?

Can you spot the differences from before and after?

What do you think is the software used to create this?

B. Presentation of the Lesson

LASSO TOOLS

Lasso Tool- is a selection tool that uses shape to select an object.

Types of Lasso Tools

1. Lasso Tool- makes a free hand selection.


2. Polygonal Lasso Tool- makes a straight line selection.
3. Magnetic Lasso Tool- makes a selection which snaps to the edge
of an object.

Procedures on how to use Lasso Tools:


Step 1: Select the lasso tool from the tool box.
Step 2: To delete the leaf, click, hold and drag along the edges of the leaf, release the
mouse button then press Delete.

Step 3: For polygonal lasso tool, trace the entire leaf then press delete or move the object
thru the mouse.

Step 4: For magnetic tool, drag the mouse cursor along the edges of the leaf to make the
selection then press delete or move the object on your desired background. (See Power
point presentation)
Tips:
It takes time to select an object clearly and properly, thus Patience is a must.
Select the best and appropriate background of your desire.
Save your work all the time.
Be cautious in tracing the object.
C. Application.
The students will do the activities below using the three Lasso Tools.
