1.0 PURPOSE
This procedure outlines the methods to be followed for installation of the Outdoor Lighting
for 132kV Switchyard at Khabat Thermal Power Plant Units 1&2 Project.

9.0 EXECUTION
The work method to install the above mentioned outdoor ligthing equipments shall be in
the following sequence.
A. Pre-Installation Checks

Verification of Equipment layout from relevant Construction Drawings.


Check drawings are of current revised status.
Site released for Equipment installation, all foundation for ligthing poles are in place and
pylon installation completed
Conform readiness of the area.
Review Vendor drawings of the equipement and familiarize the installation method
recommended by the Vendor.
Exposed erection areas shall be cordoned by means of hazard identifying tape.
Confirm that all Tools & Tackles required for installation are available. As a minimum
the following shall be made available.
Open End Wrenches
Star End Wrenches
Torque Wrench
Slings
D-Shackles
Crowbars
Drill Machine
Grinding Machine

Check adequate place for unloading the lighting pole


Personnel involved in the activity are made aware of the risks and the steps to be taken to
mitigate any hazard or unsafe situation.
Foundation frame shall be made and properly aligned for the installation of the ligthing
pole

B. Material withdrawn from ware-house

Material inspection will be carried out to ascertain that no damage has occurred in the
package of the equipments. Incase of any damages common inspection and report will be
issued.
Store material requisition shall be made.
The Hi-Ab shall be positioned in such a way that there is no obstruction to movement of
vehicles or hindrance to works of other companies.

C. Description of sequence for ligthing poles and fixtures installation


The following will be follwed after the preparation works:

Use wowen sling to lift up the ligthing pole


Lift up theligthing pole with mobile crane according to the supplier documents and
raised foundation
Align the ligthing pole over the foundation and fit the Erection bolts.
Check the horizontal and vertical alignment of the ligthing pole and adjusted as
necessary.
Fix the bolts and nuts
Fix the cable for the fixture
Lift up the fixture to the fixing point of the ligthing pole
Put forth the cable inside the ligthing pole
Fix the fixture to the fixing point of the ligthing pole
Connect cable the the MCB

D. Description of sequence for fixtures installation for pylon


The following will be follwed after the preparation works:

Fix the cable for the fixture


Install EMT conduit as shown on the drawings on the pylon for cable pulling
Install connection box to the bottom of the pylon for cable connection
Install the fixture to the pylon as shown on the drawings
Pull the cable for fixture via EMT conduit to the connection box

10.0 TIME LINE OF ACTIVITIES


According to updated project time schedule, which is submitted seperately.
11.0 PROGRESS MEASUREMENT
Monthly progress reports will permanently be submitted to Gama for progress
measurement.

12.0 QUALITY REQUIREMENTS


Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) for Switchyard Outdoor Lighting Installation Works (Doc.
No: KP-00+++-CQ712-B7367) shall be followed during the execution of works.
Test, inspections and reporting shall be carried out by the Subcontractor in accordance to
the ITP and required documents mentioned on the ITP shall be submitted to GAMA for his
review.

All measurement equipments and torque wrenches shall be calibrated. Calibration


certificates shall be submitted to GAMA before site applications according KP-00+++MQ732-G0005_Rev.0_Calibration Procedure. Test certificates and mill certification
verifying that the materials comply with the relevant approved standards and material
certificates shall be issued for all structural steel, bolting materials, consumable materials.
Approved materials shall be used in project according to approved vendor list and material
submittal form.
13.0 HEALTH, SAFETY and ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Toolbox talk will be done with the team who is involved in the foundation works. Job
Safety Analysis (JSA) will be prepared and distributed to Site Supervisor(s). Using related
JSA, Method Statement and Risk Assessment will be discussed during the toolbox talk.
While excavation works, barricade will be installed to the around the pit and warning signs
will be put to warn other people to keep away.
Mandatory Personal Protective Equipment will be used by the person involved in the
operation. There is no requirement for additional PPE.
Risk Assessment will be taken into consideration and required precautions will be taken.

All working instructions & checklist related to


civil operations are all in place provided by
Siemens.
Safe Manual Handling practices should be
applied during installation.

Follow the site roads only and respect the


speed limits. Flashing lights always on and
use of a trained banks man, when and where
necessary. It is forbidden to use the mobile
phone, smoking and eating while driving. Sit
belts must be used at all times by the driver
and any passenger.
