1. MATERIAL
This step is where the temporary product, including the production material and component. That temporary product is intended for
the reduction of the environment impact.
Information:
Kalsi and ?ter are produced without asbestos (no chrysotile, amosite, chrocidolite or any other type of asbestos). The production of
Kalsi and ?ter are using reinforcement fibre from organic fibre (such as cellulose fibre) which is safe for the environment.
2. DESIGN
In this step, design and materials are selected carefully before producing the product, including design that appropriate for the
environments.
Information:
Kalsi is produce using the special technology from experienced International company under Etex Group Belgium that spread
across the world.
Kalsi is produced with selected raw materials, through the autoclaved process (high temperature drying process to eliminate
moisture from fibre cement materials) to get a stable and long lasting product.
3. PRODUCTION
The Product is produce using materials and components. This step includes the product that helps reducing bad impact to the
environment in the production process.
Information:
Kalsi are produced by using renewable resources and recycled material. PT Eternit Gresik use 4 ton/hour Crushing Machine to crush
the waste material in to a certain size that could be mixed with the other raw materials. The positive impact from this process is that
there will be no dry waste material from the production of Kalsi.
In addition, PT Eternit Gresik has decided to build 2000m rain water reservoirs. The facility could give independent water supplies
for 8 month in a year. The reservoirs have a built in overflow mechanism which allow over capacity of rain water automatically flown to
the factory drainage facility and distributed orderly to the sewer nearby the factory. The re-design of water recycle process circuit
allow PT Eternit Gresik to have a longer water sedimentation process. The longer time for sedimentation process gives positive
contribution by having more reusable clear water, which could be used in the production process and avoid having bad situation such
as mineral sedimentation flown to drainage environment. The sedimentation will be auto recycled on the production process.

4. Transport
In this step, materials, tools, and products are delivered in a good manner, which resulting in low environment obstacle. This step
also including the product where the transportation method is chage and product delivery in a unique packing.
Information:
Kalsi are produced by PT Eternit Gresik, located in Gresik-Indonesia, the strategic location gives an important role in reducing
carbon foot-print in the delivery process to many cities in Indonesia. The delivery process of Kalsi are supported by wooden palette.
The design of the palette is customized as each product technical data. For Kalsi palettes are placed in between Kalsi product every
80cm.
5. Use/Repair
In this step, products are used by the consumers/users, maintenances, and repairs are conducted. This step includes the energy
saving and the environment cleaning, also extend the product cycles by repairing and improving the product lifetime.
Information:
Kalsiare produced by using selected raw materials and processes with special technology which makes this product have strong
durability and high stability. With an appropriate installation technique, Kalsi products could be reused again as building material for
the other project.
6. End life
In this step, products are disposed and recycled, this step includes the product that gives contribution in reducing the end waste
volume and could be recycled, which is the product that is easy to be used again as a resources, easy to recycles, and appropriate
with the well established recycle system.
Information:
The material outcome from Kalsi and ?ter production process could be used again as production raw material, this give contributions
in reducing the final disposal volume. In addition, PT Eternit Gresik also establishing an agreement with PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk, to
send the extra waste from ?ter production process to PT Holcim Indonesia's cement mills in Bogor. The waste could be used as a fuel
in that factory.

Main benefits of
Sisi recessed 2
Dimensional stability
Kalsi cement cellulose boards have some unique features and
benefits when compared with others and those with asbestos
content and air-cured. The autoclaving process (high
temperature and pressure) makes kalsi boards very stable, with
very small dimension variances when changes in humidity and
temperature occur. Their stability allows the boards not to crack
and the joints between the boards not to be submitted to
shrinkage and expansion. These characteristics are fully
appreciated in interior (hygrometry variances due to the use of air
conditioners) and exterior (variances due to the rain, sun and
climate changes) applications.

Maximum Radius
Kalsi boards are strong and resistant while also having good
flexibility. They can be bent for creating architectural and
decorative designs. The curve's maximum radius depends on
the boards' thickness. For example it is recommended to keep a
maximum distance of 600 mm between the studs for obtaining a
stronger frame and a curve without defects when curving

Problem :
if using a metal frame with a width < 42 mm, the screw distance
will be too close to the edges of Kalsiboard Ling 6, 6-R2 & 6-R4
As the screws would not be positioned far enough from the edges,
the screws could generate cracks along the boards and make the
full system weak.

Solution:
To respect a distance of 12 to 15 mm between the screws and the
edges of sboard Ling 6, 6-R2 & 6-R4. To do so, use the Kalsifuring
system. The 50 mm wide Kalsifuring gives enough space for
having the screws at a 12 to 15 mm distance from the edges.

Product information
Kalsiboardling 35 is a 3.5 mm thick ceiling board, for interior
applications, to be nailed on a wooden frame. The joints between
the boards have to remain open and cannot be filled with a jointing
compound due to the boards thickness. The boards cannot be
screwed and then cannot be applied on a metal frame for the
same reason.
Kalsiboardling 35 is an economical and fast solution for interior
ceiling applications, for instance as a plywood substitute, or for
ceilings renovation works.

Expansion joints
Expansion joints are necessary to avoid / minimize movements
caused by external factors such as earthquakes, impacts, and
different materials characteristics. Some expansion joints may be
seen in the following drawings:

Benefits
There are 2 types of applications for external cladding: as an
external wall and as a wall lining.
These 2 types have the following benefits:
Faster work compared with a conventional wall (e.g. cement
based render)
Lightweight construction: the wall does not require a big load
resistance.
Clean and dry, does not require water and mortar, or bricks,
or concrete.
Easy maintenance.
8For a decorative wood texture,
will give
you the texture of teak wood.
