Construction Delay Analysis

Construction Delay Analysis

This survey aims to gather data about the most relevant causes for construction
delays. It is being distributed to various parties involved in construction including
but not limited to owners, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors.These
causes will then be analyzed to provide relevant solutions to minimize construction
delay. Thank you for taking time to participate in the survey.
For the purpose of this study, please consider the following definitions.
1. Owner: An owner/client is the party responsible for the inception of a project. Their role
includes conveying the design idea to the architect, making major aesthetic decisions and funding
the project.

2. Consultant: A consultant is the Architect/Engineer. They have the calling shots on the
materials used, design, inspections and/or Quality Assurance/Quality Control.

3. Contractor: A contractor is the party who manages the construction of the project. They are
responsible for providing the workforce and materials and overseeing the completion of a project
on schedule and in budget.

4. Subcontractor: A subcontractor is the party that works for the project in agreement with the
contractor. Each subcontractor is specialized in his/her own field of work.

Additional definitions:
Contract: A binding legal document that lays out the terms and conditions for the project.
