Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (IMTMA) is a national association of Machine
tool and allied equipment manufacturers. The apex body of machine tool industry in the
country, IMTMA has a membership of more than 450 companies from both, the public and
private sectors, manufacturing a wide range of metal cutting and metal forming machines,
cutting tools, accessories and other ancillary equipment.
IMTMA promotes and supports the industry through a host of activities directed towards
market development, technology upgradation,
training and l linkage with
overseas
manufacturers and so on. IMTMA has over the years transformed itself to focus on issues of
productivity, quality, technology, new product development, design, customer satisfaction etc
for enhancing competitiveness of the industry in both domestic and overseas markets.
IMTMA plays a key role in the growth and development of machine tool industry and is a
single point of reference.

To give further impetus to these efforts IMTMA has established a State-of-art exhibition and
conference facility, Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) for use not only by the
Machine tool industry but also by the industry at large.BIEC, an initiative of IMTMA is Indias
first LEED Certified Green Exhibition & Conference Facility.BIEC complements its 40,000
Sq.m of covered air-conditioned space in three aesthetically and functionally designed
exhibition halls, with a 5000 Sqm of open display area, suitable for showcasing large and heavy
machines.VIP Lounge and Business Centre are attached with every hall, in addition to
exhibition management facilities. The Conference Centre, The Food Court and other support
services for exhibitor and visitor comfort are all located within 34 acres complex of BIEC.
IMTMA is governed by an Executive Committee elected from amongst the Association
members and Former Presidents every year. The Executive Committee is headed by its office
bearers The President & Vice President, elected from amongst them.
The President & Vice President are assisted by a permanent Secretariat of the Association,
with its Headquarters in Bangalore, Regional offices in Gurgaon & Pune.
