Spring 2016 Newsletter

Greetings everyone from Ecuador! Happy spring (US) or fall

(Ecuador) to you. Many of you know that we are in the States for
our daughters wedding. We are also using this
time to do a partial itineration (raise money for the
ministry) by speaking in churches, meeting with
our supporters and possible future supporters. It
is a wonderful, but very busy time for us. We
have also enjoyed having Paola from Ecuador
with us for part of the time.
Exciting news! First, we sold our home
last November! Secondly, we have two
new Bible Clubs. We started
a once a month (for now) youth club
in the San Jos community where we
average about 16 teenagers.
We also have a new kids bible club in the community of La Florida
every Tuesday. This remote village is made up of Quichua people
and we meet in a little tiny mud brick
building with one string light; there is
no evangelical church in this area. In
our 1st meeting we had twenty seven
children and twenty four adults in
attendance.

On our fourth week of driving to the

club, we recognized a young boy from
the club, standing by the main road
(still a long way from the club). We
stopped and picked him up. We asked
if he was waiting on us and he said
yes, he knew we would be coming so he waited for us. We could not
believe how far this boy has to walk to get to our club every week.
WOW!
We need a van! After working in remote villages for over two years
now we have out grown our truck. The ministry has grown so much
that we need extra help from the local community, but our truck is
too small, the public bus transportation does not go to the remote
villages in which we work and the local people do not own vehicles.
So we prayed diligently about purchasing a 12-passenger van that
would provide additional passenger space for transporting local
volunteers and small visiting mission teams.

We bought a van!Late last year, the

ministrys Board of Directors determined
that that the purchase of a 12-passenger
van was necessary and beneficial to the
growth and purpose of the ministry work
in Ecuador. After much prayer we
purchased a used, 2014 Hyundai H1,
diesel, 12-passenger diesel. This van came fully loaded and,
was outfitted with all the extras we needed. We were also able
to sell our truck.
Praise the Lord! The van has already proven itself a blessing
as we used it to transport our last few
small missions teams (did not have to
hire transportation), we picked up kids
along the way to our kids bible clubs
and we were able to take four local
couples with us to
help us in several of
our kids bible clubs.
How can you help with
the van balance?
After the purchase of the
van & the sale of our truck,
there is still a small balance.
If you feel compelled to help zero out that
balance, you can send your tax-deductible
donation designated as van to the information listed at the
bottom. Thank you for your consideration.
Prayer requests:
Building of our local Ecuadorian ministry
team.
Our financial supporters and future
supporter growth.

Open doors to new communities to minister.
