Indias Navigation Satellite launch- NAVIC

Hello friends,
After a long time I am here, the reason behind this my busy
schedule as I am a college student, and you know the life of
college student very well. And the next month is for my
semester examination. So, I am busy
Okay, then one news for us are written over here is Indias
first own GPS satellite launched on this Thursday i.e. 30-042016.
This is a big achievement for us that India comes under
those countries list who has their own GPS Navigation
system.
NAVIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) is the name of
Indians Navigation system. This is all done in presence of
our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This is seventh satellite of the Indian Regional Navigation
Satellite System, the IRNSS 1G. This satellite was launched
into a sub geosynchronous transfer orbit with a nearest point
to earth of 284 km and a farthest point to earth of 20,657 km.
The satellite was launched on board of PSLV (Polar Satellite
Launch Vehicle, which took from the Sriharikota launched
pad at 12:50 p.m.
Now, after the successful launched of Satellite, the ISRO
(Indian Space Research Organisation) is on the way to the

next step of designing front end chips which will receive the
navigation signals sent out by the satellite.
NAVIC is almost similar to the GPS operated by the US and
the Glonass by the Russia, Galileo by the Europe and last
one is BeiDuo system by the China respectively.
The Prime Minister invited the neighbour countries to make
use of this technology.
ISRO claimed, the accuracy of this navigation system is
better than 20 m, the navigation system will be offered as an
open or Standard Positioning Service and a superior, coded
military Restricted Service.
About this navigation system, our Prime Minister said We
are now one of five countries with our own navigational
system. Today we are free of dependence on other countries
for navigation. Our planes will be able to land with ease and
accuracy, we can plan disaster relief better and with our own
technology.
Why the name of this navigation system is kept to be
NAVIC?
Explaining the name NAVIC, the Prime Minister Mr. Modi
said the system was dedicated to Indias mariners and
fishermen who have been navigating using the sun and stars
as waypoints for hundreds of years. They have shown
strength and determination in venturing out to sea for so
many years. We have named this system for them, the
naviks (mariners), he said.
