Formula One (also Formula 1 or F1) is the highest class of single-seat auto racing that is sanctioned by

the Fdration Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA)

The "formula", designated in the name, refers to a set of rules, to which all participants' cars must conform.

The F1 season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix (from French, originally meaning great
prizes), held throughout the world on purpose-built F1 circuits and public roads.
Formula One cars are the fastest road course racing cars in the world, owing to very high cornering speeds
achieved through the generation of large amounts of aerodynamic downforce. Formula One cars race at
speeds of up to 360 km/h (220 mph) with engines currently limited in performance to a maximum of
15,000 RPM.

A Formula One Grand Prix event spans a weekend. It begins with two free practice sessions on Friday and
one free practice on Saturday A qualifying session is held after the last free practice session. This session
determines the starting order for the race on Sunday

Qualifying
Drivers would have one or more sessions in which to set their fastest time, with the grid order determined
by each driver's best single lap, with the fastest on pole position
It is split into three periods, known as Q1, Q2 and Q3. In each period, drivers run qualifying laps to
attempt to advance to the next period, with the slowest drivers being "knocked out" at the end of the period
and their grid positions set, based on their best lap times.
Currently, with 22 cars, Q1 runs for 18 minutes, and eliminates the slowest six drivers. In Q2, the 16
remaining drivers have 15 minutes to set one of the ten fastest times and proceed to the next period.
Finally, Q3 lasts 12 minutes and sees the remaining ten drivers decide the first ten grid positions
The race begins with a warm-up lap, after which the cars assemble on the starting grid in the order they
qualified. This lap is often referred to as the formation lap, as the cars lap in formation with no overtaking
The warm-up lap allows drivers to check the condition of the track and their car, gives the tyres a chance to
warm up to increase traction, and also gives the pit crews time to clear themselves and their equipment
from the grid.
Throughout the race drivers may make pit stops to change tyres and repair damage
Different teams and drivers employ different pit stop strategies in order to maximise their car's potential.
Two tyre compounds, with different durability and adhesion characteristics, are available to drivers.

I dont completely agree with you. Actually Western culture has filled the voids of
our culture.
Western culture has not only removed many evil practices such as sati, child
marriage, and superstitious beliefs but also made concerted efforts to bring in
equality among all people of the country.
One of the drawbacks of our culture is that Society plays an active role in a
persons life. Every decision that a person takes, reflects what the society thinks
about it.
They also improved public health, transportation system and most importantly
cleanliness.
Most of us have the habit of throwing garbage here and there instead of putting
it in its proper place. But, if you have been to any western country, then you
might have observed a big difference in cleanliness. They keep their
surroundings absolutely clean and do not throw even a single bit of paper on the
road, in parks or at public places. Everything is well maintained.

Traffic Rules
How many of you have seen someone or the other breaking traffic rules in India?
I have seen this many a times. But westerners follow all the traffic rules very
strictly, even if there is no traffic policeman around.

Transportation
Transportation system in western countries is much better than in India. A friend
of mine once went to England. She was travelling by bus. The bus stopped at its
scheduled stop and there was a handicapped person waiting for the bus. This bus
had that space occupied, so the driver of the bus deboarded. He contacted
another bus driver driving the bus on the same route and confirmed the space
for handicapped person and his wheelchair. The driver then waited for that bus.
He left the place only after boarding the handicapped passenger in the right bus.
Bus drivers can communicate with passengers whenever required and they
speak very politely. Such types of incidents are absolutely hard to find in India.

Westerners can have affectionate guy-girl friendships without any romantic interest. Indians tend
to have a much lower threshold of what is considered a relationship. What Westerners might
consider a normal guy-girl friendship can be read as definite interest in the other person. In
particular, spending time alone with someone of the opposite sex is a strong sign of interest.
