Dignity of Work
Greatness of work or significance of work stand in the meanings of
dignity of work .It means that every kind of work is great. No matter
how small or how trivial it is. By doing work with our own hands, our
greatness is not curtailed and we should, not feel shy or disgrace in
doing chores of daily life. Dignity of work is very importance
because it produces the spirit of doing hard work which enables us
to face the hardship of life. It creates modesty on our personality
and helps in the modification of ourselves. It also makes us ethical
and social. So, we should realize that by doing work with our own
hands make us honourable and great.

Q.1: Imagine that you are having the social service week at your school. Describe in
a paragraph of ten sentences how you and your guide cleaned and decorated the
class room.
Ans: During the last month we arranged social service work in our school. All the
teacher and students participated in it. First of all every class was asked to clean

and decorate their own class. We took special care in cleaning our class. First of all
we swept our class room. The class teacher who was our guide was also present
during that he helped us in cleaning the class room. After sweeping the class we
washed the floor, the windows and door. After it we dusted the desks, chair and
table. Our teacher took special interest in cleaning the cup-board where holy Qurans
were kept. After completing the cleaning we decorated the class room with beautiful
pictorial charts.

Summary
Akhtar got angry on being asked to dust the cupboard and the desk during the
social service work at school. He thought that it was servant's work. His uncle. Mr.
Inayat, told him about the dignity of work. The advanced countries have learnt the
dignity of work. Everybody works there. They are not ashamed of doing work while
we avoid doing work. Our Prophet (peace be on him) and his companions did their
work with their own hands. Akhtar understood the dignity of work and promised not
to mind working with his hands in the future.
