EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Airsoft Infosys is a flagship company in IT sector, one of the biggest player in Patiala market. Its
strength lies in its R&D capabilities which help the company to broaden its service portfolio. The
web development unit of Airsoft is the market leader in the Patiala IT market. It produces a wide
range of services ,which are used in a large number of industrial processes.
Airsoft has also been awarded ISO 9001:14001:18001 certification as an endorsement of the
companies initiatives to service quality and consistency.
The study gives an idea about the PERCEPTION OF CONSMER TOWARDS AIRSOFT
INFOSYS SKILL DEVELOPMENT COURSRES.
Consumer Perception is how information is collected and categorize. Perception is affected by
the amount of contact to an incentive and by individual interpretation. If the same consumer
encountered that information often and from many sources, then the consumer's attitude toward
dairy products might change enough to influence how often the consumer chose yogurt as a
breakfast food. The next step is exploring what these consumers will buy. The importance of
customer

satisfaction

diminishes

when

firm

has

increased

bargaining

power.

Customer satisfaction ratings can have powerful effects within organizations; they focus
employees on the importance of fulfilling customers expectations.
Keeping this in view, I have tried to evaluate the all factor which is consider when we doing a
survey. This project report highlights the concept of consumer behaviour, impact of consumer
behaviour on Airsoft, service Quality maintain by airsoft, factor which is effect behaviour of
consumer towards airsoft Infosys, what are course provided by airsoft etc. Interpretations are
drawn through the sources of primary data. Graphs, diagrams, tabulation methods are used to
analyze and interpret the data collected.
From the analysis, it can be interpreted that the Company has ahas required to make new policies
to establish in the market. There past performance is good and the course are like by mostly
customer.

SERVICES PROVIDED BY COMPANY

1.Digital MarketingIn simplistic terms, digital marketing is the promotion of products or brands
via one or more forms of electronic media. Digital marketing differs from traditional marketing
in that it involves the use of channels and methods that enable an organization to analyze
marketing campaigns and understand what is working and what isnt typically in real time.
Digital marketers monitor things like what is being viewed, how often and for how long, sales
conversions, what content works and doesnt work, etc. While the Internet is, perhaps, the
channel most closely associated with digital marketing, others include wireless text messaging,
mobile instant messaging, mobile apps, podcasts, electronic billboards, digital television and
radio channels, etc.
Why Digital Marketing Is Important
Digital media is so pervasive that consumers have access
to information any time and any place they want it. Gone are the days when the messages people
got about your products or services came from you and consisted of only what you wanted them
to know.
Digital media is an ever-growing source of entertainment, news, shopping and social interaction,
and consumers are now exposed not just to what your company says about your brand, but what
the media, friends, relatives, peers, etc., are saying as well.
And they are more likely to believe them than you. People want brands they can trust,
companies that know them, communications that are personalized and relevant, and offers
tailored to their needs and preferences.
Manage Customer Relationships Across All Channels
Digital marketing and its associated channels are important but not to the exclusion of all else.
Its not enough to just know your customers; you must know them better than anybody else so
you can communicate with them where, when and how they are most receptive to your message.

To do that, you need a consolidated view of customer preferences and expectations across all
channels Web, social media, mobile, direct mail, point of sale, etc.
Marketers can use this information to create and anticipate consistent, coordinated customer
experiences that will move customers along in the buying cycle. The deeper your insight into
customer behaviour and preferences, the more likely you are to engage them in lucrative
interactions.

Services
Service provision is often an economic activity where the buyer does not generally, except by
exclusive contract, obtain exclusive ownership of the thing purchased. The benefits of such a

service, if priced, are held to be self-evident in the buyer's willingness to pay for it. Public
services are those, that society (nation state, fiscal union, regional) as a whole pays for, through
taxes and other means.
By

composing

and

orchestrating

the

appropriate

level

of resources, skill, ingenuity,

and experience for effecting specific benefits for service consumers, service providers participate
in an economy without the restrictions of carrying inventory (stock) or the need to concern
themselves with bulky raw materials. On the other hand, their investment in expertise does
require consistent service marketing and upgrading in the face of competition.

Definition of service
The generic clear-cut, complete, concise and consistent definition of the service term reads as
follows:

A service is a set of one time consumable and perishable benefits

delivered from the accountable service provider, mostly in close coaction with his
internal and external service suppliers,

effectuated by distinct functions of technical systems and by distinct activities of

individuals, respectively,

Feature of service
Services can be paraphrased in terms of their key characteristics, sometimes called the "Five I's
of Services".

1. Intangibility
Services are intangible and insubstantial: they cannot be touched, gripped, handled, looked at,
smelled, tasted. Thus, there is neither potential nor need for transport, storage or stocking of
services. Furthermore, a service can be (re)sold or owned by somebody, but it cannot be turned
over from the service provider to the service consumer. Solely, the service delivery can be

commissioned to a service provider who must generate and render the service at the distinct
request of an authorized service consumer.
2. Inventory (Perishability)
Services have little or no tangible components and therefore cannot be stored for a future use.
Services are produced and consumed during the same period of time.Services are perishable in
two regards

The service relevant resources, processes and systems are assigned for service delivery
during a definite period in time. If the designated or scheduled service consumer does not
request and consume the service during this period, the service cannot be performed for him.
From the perspective of the service provider, this is a lost business opportunity as he cannot
charge any service delivery; potentially, he can assign the resources, processes and systems
to another service consumer who requests a service.
Examples: The hairdresser serves another client when the scheduled starting time or time
slot is over. An empty seat on a plane never can be utilized and charged after departure.

When the service has been completely rendered to the requesting service consumer, this
particular service irreversibly vanishes as it has been consumed by the service consumer.
Example: the passenger has been transported to the destination and cannot be transported
again to this location at this point in time.

3. Inseparability
The service provider is indispensable for service delivery as he must promptly generate and
render the service to the requesting service consumer. In many cases the service delivery is
executed automatically but the service provider must preparatory assign resources and systems
and actively keep up appropriate service delivery readiness and capabilities.
Additionally, the service consumer is inseparable from service delivery because he is involved in
it from requesting it up to consuming the rendered benefits. Examples: The service consumer
must sit in the hairdresser's shop & chair or in the plane & seat; correspondingly, the hairdresser
or the pilot must be in the same shop or plane, respectively, for delivering the service.

4. Inconsistency (Variability)
Each service is unique. It is one-time generated, rendered and consumed and can never be
exactly repeated as the point in time, location, circumstances, conditions, current configurations
and/or assigned resources are different for the next delivery, even if the same service consumer
requests the same service. Many services are regarded as heterogeneous or lacking homogeneity
and are typically modified for each service consumer or each new situation.
Example: The taxi service which transports the service consumer from his home to the opera is
different from the taxi service which transports the same service consumer from the opera to his
home another point in time, the other direction, maybe another route, probably another taxi
driver and cab.
5. Involvement
One of the most important characteristics of services is the participation of the customer in the
service delivery process. A customer has the opportunity to get the services modified according
to specific requirement.
Each of these characteristics is retractable per se and their inevitable coincidence complicates the
consistent service conception and makes service delivery a challenge in each and every case.
Proper service marketing requires creative visualization to effectively evoke a concrete image in
the service consumer's mind. From the service consumer's point of view, these characteristics
make it difficult, or even impossible, to evaluate or compare services prior to experiencing the
service delivery.
Mass generation and delivery of services is very difficult. This can be seen as a problem of
inconsistent service quality. Both inputs and outputs to the processes involved providing services
are highly variable, as are the relationships between these processes, making it difficult to
maintain consistent service quality. For many services there is labor intensity as services usually
involve considerable human activity, rather than a precisely determined process; exceptions
include utilities. Human resource management is important.
The human factor is often the key success factor in service economies. It is difficult to
achieve economies of scale or gain dominant market share. There are demand fluctuations and it
can be difficult to forecast demand. Demand can vary by season, time of day, business cycle, etc.

There is consumer involvement as most service provision requires a high degree of interaction
between service consumer and service provider. There is a customer-based relationship based on
creating long-term business relationships. Accountants, attorneys, and financial advisers maintain
long-term relationships with their clients for decades. These repeat consumers refer friends and
family, helping to create a client-based relationship.
Marketing Concept
Marketing is communicating the value of a product, service or brand to customers, for the
purpose of promoting or selling that product, service, or brand.
Marketing techniques include choosing target markets through market analysis and market
segmentation, as well as understanding consumer behaviour and advertising a product's value to
the customer.
From a societal point of view, marketing is the link between a society's material requirements
and its economic patterns of response.
Marketing satisfies these needs and wants through exchange processes and building long-term
relationships.
Marketing blends art and applied science (such as behavioural sciences) and makes use
of information technology.
Marketing is applied in enterprise and organizations through marketing management.

Recent

approaches

in

marketing

include relationship

marketing with

focus

on

the

customer, business marketing or industrial marketing with focus on an organization or institution

and social marketing with focus on benefits to society. New forms of marketing also use
the internet and are therefore called internet marketing or more generally e-marketing, online
marketing, "digital marketing", search engine marketing, or desktop advertising. It attempts to
perfect the segmentation strategy used in traditional marketing.

Customer Orientation-:

It targets its audience more precisely, and is sometimes called personalized marketing or one-toone marketing. Internet marketing is sometimes considered to be broad in scope, because it not
only refers to marketing on the Internet, but also includes marketing done via e-mail, wireless
media as well as driving audience from traditional marketing methods like radio and billboard to
internet properties or landing page.
A firm in the market economy survives by producing goods that persons are willing and able to
buy. Consequently, ascertaining consumer demand is vital for a firm's future viability and even
existence as a going concern. Many companies today have a customer focus (or market
orientation). This implies that the company focuses its activities and products on consumer
demands. Generally, there are three ways of doing this: the customer-driven approach, the market
change identification approach and the product innovation approach.
In the consumer-driven approach, consumer wants are the drivers of all strategic marketing
decisions. No strategy is pursued until it passes the test of consumer research. Every aspect of a
market offering, including the nature of the product itself, is driven by the needs of potential
consumers. The starting point is always the consumer. The rationale for this approach is that
there is no reason to spend R&D (research and development) funds developing products that
people will not buy. History attests to many products that were commercial failures in spite of
being technological breakthroughs.

A formal approach to this customer-focused marketing is known as SIVA (Solution, Information,

Value, Access). This system is basically the four Ps renamed and reworded to provide a customer
focus. The SIVA Model provides a demand/customer-centric alternative to the well-known 4Ps
supply side model (product, price, placement, promotion) of marketing management.

Product

Solution

Promotion

Information

Price

Value

Place (Distribution)

Access

If any of the 4Ps were problematic or were not in the marketing factor of the business, the
business could be in trouble and so other companies may appear in the surroundings of the
company, so the consumer demand on its products will decrease.
However, in recent years service marketing has widened the domains to be considered,
contributing to the 7P's of marketing in total. The other 3P's of service marketing are: process,
physical environment and people.

Service Marketing-:
Services marketing is a sub-field of marketing, which can be split into the two main areas of
goods marketing and services marketing. Services marketing typically refer to both business to
consumer (B2C) and business to business (B2B) services, and include marketing of services such
as telecommunications services, financial services, all types of hospitality services, car rental
services, air travel, health care services and professional services.
Services are (usually) intangible economic activities offered by one party to another. Often timebased, services performed bring about desired results to recipients, objects, or other assets for
which purchasers have responsibility. In exchange for money, time, and effort, service customers

expect value from access to goods, labor, professional skills, facilities, networks, and systems;
but they do not normally take ownership of any of the physical elements involved.
There has been a long academic debate on what makes services different from goods. The
historical perspective in the late-eighteen and early-nineteenth centuries focused on creation and
possession of wealth. Classical economists contended that goods were objects of value over
which ownership rights could be established and exchanged. Ownership implied tangible
possession of an object that had been acquired through purchase, barter or gift from the producer
or previous owner and was legally identifiable as the property of the current owner.
The world economy nowadays is increasingly characterized as a service economy. This is
primarily due to the increasing importance and share of the service sector in the economies of
most developed and developing countries. In fact, the growth of the service sector has long been
considered as indicative of a countrys economic progress.
Economic history tells us that all developing nations have invariably experienced a shift from
agriculture to industry and then to the service sector as the main stay of the economy.
This shift has also brought about a change in the definition of goods and services themselves. No
longer are goods considered separate from services. Rather, services now increasingly represent
an integral part of the product and this interconnectedness of goods and services is represented
on a goods-services continuum.
Definitions-:
The American Marketing Association defines services as
Activities, benefits and satisfactions which are offered for sale or are provided in connection
with the sale of goods.
The defining characteristics of a service marketing are:
1.Intangibility:

Services are intangible and do not have a physical existence. Hence services cannot be
touched, held, tasted or smelt. This is most defining feature of a service and that which
primarily differentiates it from a product. Also, it poses a unique challenge to those engaged
in marketing a service as they need to attach tangible attributes to an otherwise intangible
offering.
2.Heterogeneity/Variability:
Given the very nature of services, each service offering is unique and cannot be exactly
repeated even by the same service provider. While products can be mass produced and be
homogenous the same is not true of services. eg: All burgers of a particular flavor at
McDonalds are almost identical. However, the same is not true of the service rendered by
the same counter staff consecutively to two customers.
3.Perishability:
Services cannot be stored, saved, returned or resold once they have been used. Once
rendered to a customer the service is completely consumed and cannot be delivered to
another customer. eg: A customer dissatisfied with the services of a barber cannot return the
service of the haircut that was rendered to him. At the most he may decide not to visit that
particular barber in the future.
4.Inseparability/Simultaneity of production and consumption:
This refers to the fact that services are generated and consumed within the same time frame.
Eg: a haircut is delivered to and consumed by a customer simultaneously unlike, say, a
takeaway burger which the customer may consume even after a few hours of purchase.
Moreover, it is very difficult to separate a service from the service provider. Eg: the barber is
necessarily a part of the service of a haircut that he is delivering to his customer.

Service marketing mix-:

The service marketing mix is also known as an extended marketing mix and is an integral part of
a service blueprint design. The service marketing mix consists of 7 Ps as compared to the 4 Ps

of a product marketing mix. Simply said, the service marketing mix assumes the service as a
product itself. However it adds 3 more Ps which are required for optimum service delivery.

The product marketing mix consists of the 4 Ps which are Product, Pricing, Promotions and
Placement. These are discussed in my article on product marketing mix the 4 Ps.
The extended service marketing mix places 3 further Ps which include People, Process and
Physical evidence. All of these factors are necessary for optimum service delivery. Let us discuss
the same in further detail.
1.Product :
The product in service marketing mix is intangible in nature. Like physical products such as a
soap or a detergent, service products cannot be measured. Tourism industry or the education
industry

can

be

an

excellent

example.

At

the

same

time

service

products

are heterogenous, perishable and cannot beowned. The service product thus has to be designed
with care. Generally service blue printing is done to define the service product. For example a
restaurant blue print will be prepared before establishing a restaurant business. This service blue
print defines exactly how the product (in this case the restaurant) is going to be.
2.Place :
Place in case of services determine where is the service product going to be located. The best
place to open up a petrol pump is on the highway or in the city. A place where there is minimum
traffic is a wrong location to start a petrol pump. Similarly a software company will be better
placed in a business hub with a lot of companies nearby rather than being placed in a town or
rural area.

3.Promotion :
Promotions have become a critical factor in the service marketing mix. Services are easy to be
duplicated and hence it is generally the brand which sets a service apart from its counterpart. You
will find a lot of banks and telecom companies promoting themselves rigorously. Why is that? It
is because competition in this service sector is generally high and promotions is necessary to
survive. Thus banks, IT companies, and dotcoms place themselves above the rest by advertising
or promotions.
4.Pricing :
Pricing in case of services is rather more difficult than in case of products. If you were a
restaurant owner, you can price people only for the food you are serving. But then who will pay
for the nice ambience you have built up for your customers? Who will pay for the band you have
for music? Thus these elements have to be taken into consideration while costing.
Generally service pricing involves taking into consideration labor, material cost and overhead
costs. By adding a profit mark up you get your final service pricing. You can also read
about pricing strategies. Here on we start towards the extended service marketing mix.
5.People :
People is one of the elements of service marketing mix. People define a service. If you have an
IT company, your software engineers define you. If you have a restaurant, your chef and service
staff defines you. If you are into banking, employees in your branch and their behaviour towards
customers defines you.
In case of service marketing, people can make or break an organization. Thus many companies
nowadays are involved into specially getting their staff trained in interpersonal skills and
customer service with a focus towards customer satisfaction. In fact many companies have to
undergo accreditation to show that their staff is better than the rest. Definitely a USP in case of
services.
6.Process :

Service process is the way in which a service is delivered to the end customer. Lets take the
example of two very good companies Mcdonalds and Fedex. Both the companies thrive on
their quick service and the reason they can do that is their confidence on their processes. On top
of it, the demand of these services is such that they have to deliver optimally without a loss in
quality.
Thus the process of a service company in delivering its product is of utmost importance. It is also
a critical component in the service blueprint, wherein before establishing the service, the
company defines exactly what should be the process of the service product reaching the end
customer.
7.Physical Evidence :
The last element in the service marketing mix is a very important element. As said before,
services are intangible in nature. However, to create a better customer experience tangible
elements are also delivered with the service. Take an example of a restaurant which has only
chairs and tables and good food, or a restaurant which has ambient lighting, nice music along
with good seating arrangement and this also serves good food.
Which one will you prefer? The one with the nice ambience. Thats physical evidence. Several
times, physical evidence is used as a differentiator in service marketing. Imagine a private
hospital and a government hospital. A private hospital will have plush offices and well dressed
staff. Same cannot be said for a government hospital. Thus physical evidence acts as a
differentiator.

Education Service Marketing:

Education service:
Education in its general sense is a form of learning in which the knowledge, skills, values,
beliefs and habits of a group of people are transferred from one generation to the next through
storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, or research. Education may also include informal
transmission of such information from one human being to another. Education is the one of the
important measure of human development in a society. The growths in the education sector result
in acceleration of economic growth and prosperity of a nation. Educations promote the

innovation and make society dynamic. Educated people are able to organization themselves as
well as society. The education sector provides various significance to person.

Education frequently takes place under the guidance of others, but learners may also educate
themselves. Any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may
be considered educational. Education is commonly and formally divided into stages such
as preschool, primary school, secondary school and then college, university or apprenticeship.
The methodology of teaching is called pedagogy.
A right to education has been recognized by some governments. At the global level, Article 13 of
the United Nations' 1966 International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural
Rights recognizes the right of everyone to an education. Although education is compulsory in
most places up to a certain age, attendance at school often isn't, and a minority of parents
choose home-schooling, sometimes with the assistance of modern electronic educational
technology (also called e-learning). Education can take place in formal or informal settings.
Formal Education:
Formal education occurs in a structured environment whose explicit purpose is teaching students.
Usually formal education takes place in a school environment, with classrooms of multiple
students learning together with a trained teacher. Most school systems are designed around a set
of values or ideals that govern all educational choices in that system. Such choices include
curriculum, physical classroom design, student-teacher interactions, methods of assessment,
class size, educational activities, and more.
In India, for example, compulsory education spans over twelve years, with eight years of
elementary education, five years of primary schooling and three years of upper primary
schooling. Various states in the republic of India provide 12 years of compulsory school
education based on a national curriculum framework designed by the National Council of
Educational Research and Training.

In most contemporary educational systems of the world, secondary education comprises the
formal education that occurs during adolescence. It is characterized by transition from the
typically

compulsory,

comprehensive primary

education for minors,

to

the

optional,

selective tertiary, "post-secondary", or "higher" education (e.g. university, vocational school)

for adults. Depending on the system, schools for this period, or a part of it, may be called
secondary or high schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, middle schools, colleges, or vocational
schools.
The exact meaning of any of these terms varies from one system to another.
Informal Learning:
Informal learning is one of three forms of learning defined by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Informal learning occurs in a variety of places, such as
at home, work, and through daily interactions and shared relationships among members of
society. For many learners this includes language acquisition, cultural norms and manners.
Informal learning for young people is an ongoing process that also occurs in a variety of places,
such as out of school time, in youth programs at community centers and media labs.
Informal learning usually takes place outside educational establishments, does not follow a
specified curriculum and may originate accidentally, sporadically, in association with certain
occasions,

from

changing practical requirements.

It

is

not

necessarily

planned

to

be pedagogically conscious, systematic and according to subjects, but rather unconsciously

incidental, holistically problem-related, and related to situation management and fitness for life.
It is experienced directly in its "natural" function of everyday life and is often spontaneous.
The concept of 'education through recreation' was applied to childhood development in the 19th
century. In the early 20th century, the concept was broadened to include young adults but the
emphasis was on physical activities. L.P. Jacks, also an early proponent of lifelong learning,
described education through recreation: "A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction
between his work and his play, his labour and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education
and his recreation.

He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever
he is doing and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself he
always seems to be doing both. Enough for him that he does it well." Education through
recreation is the opportunity to learn in a seamless fashion through all of life's activities. The
concept has been revived by the University of Western Ontario to teach anatomy to medical
students.
Development goal:
Since 1909, the ratio of children in the developing world going to school has increased. Before
then, a small minority of boys attended school. By the start of the 21st century, the majority of all
children in most regions of the world attended school.
Universal Primary Education is one of the eight international Millennium Development Goals,
towards which progress has been made in the past decade, though barriers still remain. Securing
charitable funding from prospective donors is one particularly persistent problem. Researchers at
the Overseas Development Institute have indicated that the main obstacles to receiving more
funding for education include conflicting donor priorities, an immature aid architecture, and a
lack of evidence and advocacy for the issue.
Additionally, Transparency International has identified corruption in the education sector as a
major stumbling block to achieving Universal Primary Education in Africa. Furthermore,
demand in the developing world for improved educational access is not as high as foreigners
have expected. Indigenous governments are reluctant to take on the recurrent costs involved.
There is economic pressure from those parents who prefer their children to earn money in the
short term rather than work towards the long-term benefits of education.
A study conducted by the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning indicates
that stronger capacities in educational planning and management may have an important spillover effect on the system as a whole. Sustainable capacity development requires complex
interventions at the institutional, organizational and individual levels that could be based on
some foundational principles:

national leadership and ownership should be the touchstone of any intervention;

strategies must be context relevant and context specific.

they should embrace an integrated set of complementary interventions, though

implementation may need to proceed in steps.

partners should commit to a long-term investment in capacity development, while

working towards some short-term achievements;

outside intervention should be conditional on an impact assessment of national capacities

at various levels;

a certain percentage of students should be removed for improvisation of academics

(usually practiced in schools, after 10th grade).

Similarities in systems or even in ideas that schools share internationally have led to an
increase in international student exchanges. The European Socrates-ErasmusProgram facilitates
exchanges across European universities. The Soros Foundation provides many opportunities for
students from central Asia and eastern Europe. Programs such as the International
Baccalaureate have

contributed

to

the

internationalization

of

education.

The global

campus online, led by American universities, allows free access to class materials and lecture
files recorded during the actual classes.
Education and technology in developing countries
Technology plays an increasingly significant role in improving access to education for people
living in impoverished areas and developing countries. There are charities dedicated to providing
infrastructures through which the disadvantaged may access educational materials, for example,
the One Laptop per Child project.
The OLPC foundation, a group out of MIT Media Lab and supported by several major
corporations, has a stated mission to develop a$100 laptop for delivering educational software.

The laptops were widely available as of 2008. They are sold at cost or given away based on
donations.
In Africa, the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) has launched an "e-school
program" to provide all 600,000 primary and high schools with computer equipment, learning
materials and internet access within 10 years. An International Development Agency project
called nabuur.com, started with the support of former American President Bill Clinton, uses
the Internet to allow co-operation by individuals on issues of social development.
India is developing technologies that will bypass land-based telephone and Internet infrastructure
to deliver distance learning directly to its students. In 2004, the Indian Space Research
Organization launched EDUSAT, a communications satellite providing access to educational
materials that can reach more of the country's population at a greatly reduced cost.
Private vs public funding in developing countries
Research into LCPSs (low cost private schools) found that over 5 years to July 2013, debate
around LCPSs to achieving Education for All (EFA) objectives was polarised and finding
growing coverage in international policy. The polarisation was due to disputes around whether
the schools are affordable for the poor, reaching disadvantaged groups, provide quality
education, supporting or undermining equality, and are financially sustainable. The report
examined the main challenges that development organisations which support LCPSs have
encountered. Surveys suggest these types of schools are expanding across Africa and Asia and is
attributed to excess demand. These surveys also found concern for:

Equity, widely found in the literature, as the growth in low-cost private schooling may be
exacerbating or perpetuating already existing inequalities in developing countries, between
urban and rural populations, lower- and higher-income families, and between girls and boys.
The report says findings are that LCPSs see evidence girls are underrepresented and that they
are reaching some low-income families, often in small numbers compared with higherincome families.

Quality of provision and educational outcomes: You cannot generalise about the quality
of private schools. While most achieve better results than government counterparts, even
after their social background is taken into account, some studies find the opposite. Quality in
terms of levels of teacher absence, teaching activity and pupil to teacher ratios in some
countries are better in LCPSs than in government schools.

Choice and affordability for the poor: parents can choose private schools because of
perceptions of better-quality teaching and facilities, and an English language instruction
preference. Nevertheless, the concept of 'choice' does not apply in all contexts, or to all
groups in society, partly because of limited affordability (which excludes most of the
poorest) and other forms of exclusion, related to caste or social status.

Cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability: Evidence is that private schools operate at

low cost by keeping teacher salaries low, but their financial situation may be precarious
where they are reliant on fees from low-income households.

The report said there were some cases of successful voucher and subsidy programmes;
evaluations of international support to the sector are not widespread. Addressing regulatory
ineffectiveness is a key challenge. Emerging approaches stress the importance of understanding
the political economy of the market for LCPSs, specifically how relationships of power and
accountability between users, government and private providers can produce better education
outcomes for the poor.
purpose of schools
Individual purposes for pursuing education can vary. Understanding the goals and means of
educational socialization processes may also differ according to the sociological paradigm used.
The early years of schooling generally focus around developing basic interpersonal
communication and literacy skills. This lays a foundation for more complex skills and subjects.
Later, education usually turns toward gaining the knowledge and skills needed to create value
and establish a livelihood.

People also pursue education for its own sake to satisfy innate curiosity, out of interest in a
specific subject or skill, or for overall personal development.
Education is often understood as a means of overcoming handicaps, achieving greater equality,
and acquiring wealth and status for all (Sargent 1994). Education is also often perceived as a
place where children can develop according to their unique needs and potentials, with the
purpose of developing every individual to their full potential.
Educational psychology:
Educational psychology is the study of how humans learn in educational settings, the
effectiveness of educational interventions, the psychology of teaching, and the social
psychology of schools as organizations. Although the terms "educational psychology" and
"school psychology" are often used interchangeably, researchers and theorists are likely to be
identified as educational psychologists, whereas practitioners in schools or school-related
settings are identified as school psychologists. Educational psychology is concerned with the
processes of educational attainment in the general population and in sub-populations such
as gifted children and those with specific disabilities.
Educational psychology can in part be understood through its relationship with other disciplines.
It is informed primarily by psychology, bearing a relationship to that discipline analogous to the
relationship between medicine and biology. Educational psychology in turn informs a wide range
of specialties within educational studies, including instructional design, educational technology,
curriculum development, organizational learning, special education and classroom management.
Educational psychology both draws from and contributes to cognitive science and the learning
sciences. In universities, departments of educational psychology are usually housed within
faculties of education, possibly accounting for the lack of representation of educational
psychology content in introductory psychology textbooks (Lucas, Blazek, & Raley, 2006).
Learning modalities
There has been much interest in learning modalities and styles over the last two decades. The
most commonly employed learning modalities are:

Visual: learning based on observation and seeing what is being learned.

Auditory: learning based on listening to instructions/information.

Kinesthetic: learning based on movement, e.g. hands-on work and engaging in activities.

Other

commonly

employed

modalities

include musical, interpersonal, verbal, logical,

and intrapersonal.
Dunn and Dunn focused on identifying relevant stimuli that may influence learning and
manipulating the school environment, at about the same time as Joseph Renzulli recommended
varying teaching strategies. Howard Gardner[44] identified a wide range of modalities in
his Multiple Intelligences theories. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator andKeirsey Temperament
Sorter, based on the works of Jung, focus on understanding how people's personality affects the
way they interact personally, and how this affects the way individuals respond to each other
within the learning environment. The work of David Kolb and Anthony Gregorc's Type
Delineator follows a similar but more simplified approach.
Some theories propose that all individuals benefit from a variety of learning modalities, while
others suggest that individuals may have preferred learning styles, learning more easily through
visual or kinesthetic experiences. A consequence of the latter theory is that effective teaching
should present a variety of teaching methods which cover all three learning modalities so that
different students have equal opportunities to learn in a way that is effective for them. Guy
Claxton has questioned the extent that learning styles such as Visual, Auditory and
Kinesthetic(VAK) are helpful, particularly as they can have a tendency to label children and
therefore restrict learning. Recent research has argued "there is no adequate evidence base to
justify incorporating learning styles assessments into general educational practice."
Curriculum:
In formal education, a curriculum is the set of courses and their content offered at
a school or university. As an idea, curriculum stems from the Latin word for race course,
referring to the course of deeds and experiences through which children grow to become

matureadults. A curriculum is prescriptive, and is based on a more general syllabus which merely
specifies what topics must be understood and to what level to achieve a particular grade or
standard.
An academic discipline is a branch of knowledge which is formally taught, either at the
universityor via some other such method. Each discipline usually has several sub-disciplines or
branches, and distinguishing lines are often both arbitrary and ambiguous. Examples of broad
areas of academic disciplines include the natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, social
sciences, humanities and applied sciences.
Educational institutions may incorporate fine arts as part of K-12 grade curricula or within
majors at colleges and universities as electives. The various types of fine arts are music, dance,
and theater.
Instruction:
Instruction is the facilitation of another's learning. Instructors in primary and secondary
institutions are often called teachers, and they direct the education of students and might draw on
many subjects like reading, writing, mathematics, science and history.

Instructors

in

post-

secondary institutions might be called teachers, instructors, or professors, depending on the type
of institution; and they primarily teach only their specific discipline.
Studies from the United States suggest that the quality of teachers is the single most important
factor affecting student performance, and that countries which score highly on international tests
have multiple policies in place to ensure that the teachers they employ are as effective as
possible. With the passing of NCLB in the United States (No Child Left Behind), teachers must
be highly qualified.A popular way to gauge teaching performance is to use student evaluations of
teachers (SETS), but these evaluations have been criticized for being counterproductive to
learning and inaccurate due to student bias.

2. K-12

1. Pre- schools:

Preschools provide education from ages approximately 3 to 7, depending on the country, when
children enter primary education. Also known as nursery schools and as kindergarten, except in
the USA, where kindergarten is a term used for primary education. Kindergarten "provides a
child-centered, preschool curriculum for three- to seven-year-old children that aims at unfolding
the child's physical, intellectual, and moral nature with balanced emphasis on each of them.
Primary (or elementary) education consists of the first 57 years of formal, structured education.
In general, primary education consists of six to eight years of schooling starting at the age of five
or six, although this varies between, and sometimes within, countries. Globally, around 89% of
children aged 612 are enrolled in primary education, and this proportion is rising.
Under the Education For All programs driven by UNESCO, most countries have committed to
achieving universal enrollment in primary education by 2015, and in many countries, it is
compulsory. The division between primary and secondary education is somewhat arbitrary, but it
generally occurs at about eleven or twelve years of age.
Some education systems have separate middle schools, with the transition to the final stage of
secondary education taking place at around the age of fourteen. Schools that provide primary
education, are mostly referred to as primary schools or elementary schools. Primary schools are
often subdivided into infant schools and junior school.
2. K-12 Segment:

3. Private tutoring for school:

ii. Professional college/higher Education:
The exact boundary between primary and secondary education also varies from country to
country and even within them, but is generally around the seventh to the tenth year of schooling.

Secondary education occurs mainly during the teenage years. In the United States, Canada
and Australia primary and secondary education together are sometimes referred to as K12 education, and in New Zealand Year 113 is used. The purpose of secondary education can be
to give common knowledge, to prepare for higher education or to train directly in a profession.
The emergence of secondary education in the United States did not happen until 1910, caused by
the rise in big businesses and technological advances in factories (for instance, the emergence of
electrification), that required skilled workers. In order to meet this new job demand, high
schools were created, with a curriculum focused on practical job skills that would better prepare
students for white collar or skilled blue collar work.
This proved to be beneficial for both employers and employees, for the improvement in human
capital caused employees to become more efficient, which lowered costs for the employer, and
skilled employees received a higher wage than employees with just primary educational
attainment.
In Europe, grammar schools or academies date from as early as the 16th century, in the form
of public schools, fee-paying schools, or charitable educational foundations, which themselves
have an even longer history. Community colleges offer nonresidential junior college offering
courses to people living in a particular area.

Higher education, also called tertiary, third stage, or post secondary education, is the noncompulsory educational level that follows the completion of a school providing a secondary
education, such as a high school or secondary school. Tertiary education is normally taken to
include undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as vocational education and training.
Colleges and universities are the main institutions that provide tertiary education. Collectively,
these are sometimes known as tertiary institutions. Tertiary education generally results in the
receipt of certificates, diplomas, or academic degrees.
Higher

education

generally

involves

work

towards

degree-level

or foundation

degree qualification. In most developed countries a high proportion of the populations (up to

50%) now enter higher education at some time in their lives. Higher education is therefore very
important to national economies, both as a significant industry in its own right, and as a source of
trained and educated personnel for the rest of the economy.
University education includes teaching, research, and social services activities, and it includes
both the undergraduate level (sometimes referred to as tertiary education) and thegraduate (or
postgraduate) level (sometimes referred to as graduate school). Universities are generally
composed of several colleges. In the United States, universities can be private and independent
like Yale University; public and state-governed like the Pennsylvania State System of Higher
Education; or independent but state-funded like the University of Virginia. A number of career
specific courses are now available to students through the Internet.
A liberal arts education can be defined as a "college or university curriculum aimed at imparting
broad general knowledge and developing general intellectual capacities, in contrast to a
professional, vocational, or technical curriculum." Although what is known today as liberal arts
education began in Europe, the term "liberal arts college" is more commonly associated with
institutions in the United States.
While considered "alternative" today, most alternative systems have existed since ancient times.
After the public school system was widely developed beginning in the 19th century, some
parents found reasons to be discontented with the new system. Alternative education developed
in part as a reaction to perceived limitations and failings of traditional education.
Indigenous education refers to the inclusion of indigenous knowledge, models, methods and
content within formal and non-formal educational systems. Often in a post-colonial context, the
growing recognition and use of indigenous education methods can be a response to the erosion
and loss of indigenous knowledge and language through the processes of colonialism.
Furthermore, it can enable indigenous communities to "reclaim and revalue their languages and
cultures, and in so doing, improve the educational success of indigenous students."

3. Vocational training:

o Teacher Training
o It Training
4. E-learning and self directed tutoring:
1.Self-directed learning:
Autodidacticism (also autodidactism) is a contemplative, absorbing process, of "learning on your
own" or "by yourself", or as a self-teacher. Some autodidacts spend a great deal of time
reviewing the resources of libraries and educational websites. One may become an autodidact at
nearly any point in one's life. While some may have been informed in a conventional manner in a
particular field, they may choose to inform themselves in other, often unrelated areas.
2. Open Education And Electronic Technology:
In 2012, the modern use of electronic educational technology (also called e-learning) had grown
at 14 times the rate of traditional learning. Open education is fast growing to become the
dominant form of education, for many reasons such as its efficiency and results compared to
traditional methods. Cost of education has been an issue throughout history, and a major political
issue in most countries today.
Open education is generally significantly cheaper than traditional campus based learning and in
many cases even free. Many large university institutions are now starting to offer free or almost
free full courses such as Harvard, MIT and Berkeley teaming up to form edX. Other universities
offering open education are Stanford, Princeton, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Edinburgh, U. Penn, U.
Michigan, U. Virginia, U. Washington, and Caltech. It has been called the biggest change in the
way we learn since the printing press. Many people despite favorable studies on effectiveness
may still desire to choose traditional campus education for social and cultural reasons.
The conventional merit-system degree is currently not as common in open education as it is in
campus universities, although some open universities do already offer conventional degrees such
as the Open University in the United Kingdom. Presently, many of the major open education
sources offer their own form of certificate. Due to the popularity of open education, these new

kind of academic certificates are gaining more respect and equal "academic value" to traditional
degrees.
Many open universities are working to have the ability to offer students standardized testing and
traditional degrees and credentials. There has been a culture forming around distance learning for
people who are looking to enjoy the shared social aspects that many people value in traditional
on-campus education, which is not often directly offered from open education. Examples of this
are people in open education forming study groups, meet ups and movements such as Un
College.
3. Skill Development Course:
Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development of any
country. They have become even more important given the increasing pace of globalization and
technological changes provide both challenges that is taking place in the world. Countries with
higher and better levels of skills adjust more effectively to the challenges and opportunities of
globalization.
As India moves progressively towards becoming a Knowledge economy it becomes
increasingly important that the Eleventh Plan should focus on advancement of skills and these
skills have to be relevant to the emerging economic environment. In old economy, skill
development largely meant development of shop floor or manual skills.
Even in this area there are major deficiencies in our work-force which need to be rectified. In
new or knowledge economy the skill sets can range from professional, conceptual, managerial,
operational behavioural to inter-pe rs onal skills and inter-domain skills. In the 21st century as
science progresses towards a better understanding of the miniscule, that is, genes, nano-particles,
bits and bytes and neurons, knowledge domains and skill domains also multiply and become
more and more complex. To cope with this level of complexity the Eleventh Plan has given a
very high priority to Higher Education.
1). Initiatives such as establishing 30 new Central universities, 5 new IISERs, 8 IITs, 7 IIMs, 20
IIITs, etc. are aimed at meeting that part of the challenge of skill development.
History of vocation study In India:

Skill acquisition takes place through two basic structural streamsa small formal one and a
large informal one. The formal structure includes: (i) higher technical education imparted thr
ough professional colleges, (ii) vocational education in schools at the post-secondary stage, (iii)
technical training in specialized institutions, and (iv) apprenticeship training. A number of
agencies impart vocational education/training a various levels. Higher professional and technical
education, primarily in the areas of agriculture, education, engineering and technology, and
medicine, is imparted through various professional institutions.
There are seventeen ministries and departments of Go I which are imparting vocational training
to about 3.1 million persons every year. Most of these are national-level efforts and individually
they are able to reach a very small part of the new entrants to

the lab our force. Even

collectively, they provide training to about 20% of the number of annual additions to the labour
force. Each ministry/department in charge of subject sets up training establishments in its field of
specialization.
The attempt to meet training needs through multiple authorities labour, handlooms, handicrafts,
small industry, education, health, women and child development, social welfare, tourism, etc.
leads to redundancy at some locations. While each of the training initiatives has a definite area of
specialization, there is need for coordination amongst these ministries/departments.

The quantitative dimension of the Skill Development challenge can be estimated by the
following:
80% of new entrants to workforce have no opportunity for skill training. Against 12.8 million
per annum new entrants to the workforce the existing training capacity 3.1 million per annum.
about 2% of existing workforce has skill training against 96% in Korea, 75% in Germany, 80%
in Japan, and 68% in the United Kingdom.
The Quantitative Aspect of The Skill Shortage:
The NSS 61st Round Survey on Employment and Unemployment indicates that educational
institutions attendance rates (514 years) drop by nearly half in the age group 1519 years and

by 86% after the age 15 years. Labour force participation rates rise sharply after the age of 14
years and reach close to 100% at the age of 2529 years. The said results also reflect that 38.8%
of the Indian labour force is illiterate, 24.9% of the labour force has had schooling up to the
primary level and the balance 36.3% has had schooling up to the middle and higher level.
They also reveal that about 80% of the workforce in rural and urban areas do not possess any
identifiable marketable skills.
The Qualitative Aspect Of Deficiencies:
A basic problem with the skill development system is that the system is non-responsive to labour
market, due to a demandsupply mismatch on several counts: numbers, quality and skill types.
It is also seen that the inflexibilities in the course/curriculum set-up, lead to over supply in some
trades and shortages in others. Of the trained candidates, the labour market outcomes as seen
from placement/ absorption rates are reportedly very low.
The institutional spread in the VET system shows acute regional disparity with over half of the
ITIs/ITCs located in the southern States, both in terms of number of institutions as well as the
number of seats. The quality of the training system is also a matter of concern, as the
infrastructural facilities, tool/kits, faculty, curriculum are reportedly substandard. The existing
institutions also lack financial and administrative autonomy.
The testing, certification and accreditation system is reportedly weak, and since the deliverables
are not precisely defined, there is no effort at evaluating outcomes and tracking placements. The
problem is further complicated with lack of industryfaculty interaction on course curricula and
other factors. The training system for capital-intensive sectors and hi-tech areas has always
received a highly preferential treatment in contrast to those working in the informal sector.
Further there is no certification system for a large chunk of workers, who do not have any
formal education but have acquired proficiency on their own or through family tradition/long
experience. In the absence of a proper certificate, these classes of workers in the informal sector
are subjected to exploitation and they do not get any avenues for better employment in the
market and their mobility is very restricted.

The private sector-run Industrial Training Centres (ITCs) do not seem to be any better than the
ITIs, and the low-paying capacity of learners and consequently low fee structure and absence of
quality consciousness are said to be major reasons for the current state of affairs.
The Planning Commission held extensive consultations with the industry, various Central
ministries running training programmes, State Governments. The discussions have revealed that
the present system of skill formation has certain critical gaps in that the curricula are inflexible
and outmoded. There is an inadequate fitness-testing mechanism of the institutions with a
mismatched fee structure and admission criteria. The capacities of the trainers are also not in
consonance with the current requirement of various sectors due to various restrictions of the
affiliating agencies.

Consumer Perception towards Airsoft Infosys Skill Development Courses:

Furthermore, when these
ratings dip, they warn of problems that can affect sales and profitability Customer satisfaction, a
term frequently used in marketing, is a measure of how products and services supplied by a
company meet or surpass customer expectation.
As such, many cell phone plan contracts have a lot of fine print with provisions that they would
never get away if there were, say, a hundred cell phone plan providers, because customer
satisfaction would be way too low, and customers would easily have the option of leaving for a
better contract offer.
Consumers can evaluate a product along several levels. Its basic characteristics are inherent to
the generic version of the product and are defined as the fundamental advantages it can offer to a
customer. Generic products can be made distinct by adding value through extra features, such as
quality or performance enhancements.

The final level of consumer perception involves augmented properties, which offer less tangible
benefits, such as customer assistance, maintenance services, training, or appealing payment
options. In terms of competition with other products and companies, consumers greatly value
these added benefits when making a purchasing decision, making it important for manufacturers
to understand the notion of a total package when marketing to their customers.
For example, when manufacturing automotive parts, a high-performing product will provide the
customer base with basic benefits, while adding spare parts, technical assistance, and skill
training will offer enhanced properties to create a total package with increased appeal to
consumers.
Consumer perception theory is any attempt to understand how a consumers perception of a
product or service influences their behaviour. Those who study consumer perception try to
understand why consumers make the decisions they do, and how to influence these decisions.
Usually, consumer perception theory is used by marketers when designing a campaign for a
product or brand. However, some people study consumer perception in order to understand
psychology in a much more general sense.
Human beings, in general, are complex creatures who often do not seem even to know their own
minds. It is seldom easy, and sometimes impossible, to generalize about human behaviour.
Each individual is a unique product of heredity, environment and experience. Predicting such a
strange behaviour of people is a difficult and complicated task, filled with uncertainties, risks,
and surprises.
Accurate predictions can yield vast fortunes and inaccurate predictions can result in the loss of
millions of rupees. Today, business around the world recognizes that the consumer is the king.
Knowing why and how people consume products helps marketers to understand how to improve
existing products, what types of products are needed in the market place, or how to attract
consumers to buy their products. The era of liberalization, privatization and globalization has
brought changes in society and lifestyle of people.
Marketers can justify their existence only when they are able to understand consumers wants
and satisfy them. The modern marketing concept for successful management of a firm requires
marketers to consider the consumer as the focal point of their business activity. Although it is
important for the firm to understand the buyer and accordingly evolve its marketing strategy, the

buyer or consumer continues to be an enigma - sometimes responding the way the marketer
wants and on other occasions just refusing to buy the product from the same marketer.
For this reason, the buyers mind has been termed as a black box, which should be opened by
the seller to be a successful marketer. The study of consumer behaviour also includes an analysis
of factors that influence purchase decisions and product use. Understanding how consumers
make purchase decisions can help marketing managers in several ways. For example, if a
manager knows through research that all student want computer course with our old course. So
there is need of change in the product line and scheme. If manager cannot do this the customer
can shift to other one.

According to Airsoft what are the factor which effecting the consumer
behaviour:
1.Cultural Factors :
a. Culture and societal environment:
Culture is crucial when it comes to understanding the needs and behaviours of an individual.
Basically, culture is the part of every society and is the important cause of person wants and
behaviour. The influence of culture on buying behaviour varies from country to country therefore
marketers have to be very careful in analyzing the culture of different groups, regions or even
countries.
Throughout his existence, an individual will be influenced by his family, his friends, his cultural
environment or society that will teach him values, preferences as well as common behaviours to
their own culture. For a brand, it is important to understand and take into account the cultural
factors inherent to each market or to each situation in order to adapt its product and its marketing
strategy.
As these will play a role in the perception, habits, behaviour or expectations of consumers. For
example, in china mostly student want to do a technical course and they have not want to

develop our communication skill because they are professionally deal in our local language.

b. Sub-cultures:

Society is composed of several subcultures in which people can identify. Subcultures are groups
of people who share the same values based on a common experience or a similar lifestyle in
general. Each culture contains different subcultures such as religions, nationalities, geographic
regions, racial groups etc.
Marketers can use these groups by segmenting the market into various small portions. For
example in recent years, the segment of ethnic cosmetics has greatly expanded. These are
products more suited to non-Caucasian populations and to types of skin pigmentation for
African, Arab or Indian populations for example.
It s a real brand positioning with a well defined target in a sector that only offered makeup
products to a Caucasian target until now (with the exception of niche brands) and was then
receiving critics from consumers of different origin. Brands often communicate in different
ways, sometimes even create specific products (sometimes without significant intrinsic
difference) for the same type of product in order to specifically target an age group, a gender or a
specific sub-culture.

Consumers are usually more receptive to products and marketing strategies that specifically
target them.
c. Social classes:
Social classes are defined as groups more or less homogenous and ranked against each other
according to a form of social hierarchy. Even if it s very large groups, we usually find similar
values, lifestyles, interests and behaviours in individuals belonging to the same social class.
Every society possesses some form of social class which is important to the marketers because
the buying behaviour of people in a given social class is similar.
In this way marketing activities could be tailored according to different social classes. Some
studies have also suggested that the social perception of a brand or a retailer is playing a role in
the behaviour and

purchasing decisions of consumers. In addition, the consumer buying

behaviour may also change according to social class.

A consumer from the lower class will be more focused on price. While a shopper from the upper
class will be more attracted to elements such as quality, thnic innovation, features, or even the
social benefit that he can obtain from the product.
2.Social Factors:
It includes groups (reference groups, aspiration groups and member groups), family, roles and
status. This explains the outside influences of others on our purchase decisions either directly or
indirectly. Social factors are among the factors influencing consumer behaviour significantly.
They fall into three categories: reference groups, family and social roles and status.
a. Reference groups and membership groups:
The membership groups of an individual are social groups to which he belongs and which will
influence him. The membership groups are usually related to its social origin, age, place of
residence, work, hobbies, leisure, products and brands. For example if the product is visible such
as dress, shoes, car etc then the influence of reference groups will be high.
Reference groups also include opinion leader (a person who influences other because of his
special skill, knowledge or other characteristics). More generally, reference groups are defined as
those that provide to the individual some points of comparison moreor less direct about his

behaviour, lifestyle, desires or consumer habits. They influence the image that the individual has
of himself as well as his behaviour.
Whether it is a membership group or a non-membership group. Because the individual can also
be influenced by a group to which he doesnt belong yet but wishes to be part of. This is called
an aspiration group. This group will have a direct influence on the consumer who, wishing to
belong to this group and look like its members, will try to buy the same products.
For example,if a student get an course from hcl he motivate our friend to join hcl. Within a
reference group that influences the consumer buying behaviour, several roles have been
identified:

The initiator: the person who suggests buying a product or service.

The influencer: the person whose point of view or advice will etc. Reference groups
have potential in forming a person attitude or behaviour. The impact of reference groups
varies across influence the buying decision. It may be a person outside the group (singer,

athlete, actor, etc..) but on which group members rely on.

The decision-maker: the person who will choose which product to buy. In general, it s
the consumer but in some cases it may be another person. For example, the leader of a
soccer supporters group(membership group) that will define, for the whole group, which

supporter s scarf buy and bear during the next game.

The buyer: the person who will buy the product. Generally, this will be the final
consumer.

b. Family:
The family is maybe the most influencing factor for an individual. It forms an environment of
socialization in which an individual will evolve, shape his personality, and acquire values. But
also develop attitudes and opinions on various subjects such as politics, society, social relations
or himself and his desires. Buyer behaviour is strongly influenced by the member of a family.
Therefore marketers are trying to find the roles and influence of the husband, wife and children.
If the buying decision of a particular product is influenced by wife then the marketers will try to
target the women in their advertisement. Here we should note that buying roles change with
change in consumer lifestyles.

c. Social roles and status:

The position of an individual within his family, his work, his country club and his group of
friends etc. All this can be defined in terms of role and social status. A social role is a set of
attitudes and activities that an individual is supposed to have and do according to his profession
and his position at work, his position in the family, his gender, etc. and expectations of the people
around him..
For example a student whos father is a doctor join the Airsoft Infosys for java programming the
other person of society motivate our child to join the Airsoft Infosys.
3.Personal factors:
It includes such variables as age and lifecycle stage, occupation, economic circumstances,
lifestyle (activities, interests, opinions and demographics), personality and self concept. These
may explain why our preferences often change as our `situation' changes. Decisions and buying
behaviour are obviously also influenced by the characteristics of each consumer.
a. Age and way of life:
A consumer does not buy the same products or services at 20 or 70 years. His lifestyle, values,
environment, activities, hobbies and consumer habits evolve throughout his life. Age and lifecycle have potential impact on the consumer buying behaviour. It is obvious that the consumers
change the purchase of goods and services with the passage of time.
Family life-cycle consists of different stages such young singles, married couples, unmarried
couples etc which help marketers to develop appropriate products for each stage. For example,
during his life, a consumer could change his diet from unhealthy products (fast food, ready
meals, etc.) to a healthier diet, during mid-life with family before needing to follow a little later a
low cholesterol diet to avoid health problems. The factors influencing the buying decision
process may also change.
b. Lifestyle:
The lifestyle of an individual includes all of its activities, interests, values and opinions. The
lifestyle of a consumer will influence on his behaviour and purchasing decisions. For example, a
consumer with a healthy and balanced lifestyle will prefer to eat organic products and go to

specific grocery stores, will do some jogging regularly (and therefore will buy shoes, clothes and
specific products), etc.
c. Personality and self-concept:
Personality is the set of traits and specific characteristics of each individual. It is the product of
the interaction of psychological and physiological characteristics of the individual and results in
constant behaviours. It materializes into some traits such as confidence, sociability, autonomy,
charisma, ambition, openness to others, shyness, curiosity, adaptability, etc.
While the self concept is the image that the individual has or would like to have of him and he
conveys to his entourage.
d. Occupation
The occupation of a person has significant impact on his buying behaviour. For example a
marketing manager of an organization will try to purchase business suits, whereas a low level
worker in the same organization will purchase rugged work clothes.
e. Economic Situation
Consumer economic situation has great influence on his buying behaviour. If the income and
savings of a customer is high then he will purchase more expensive products. On the other hand,
a person with low income and savings will purchase inexpensive products.
f. Lifestyle
Lifestyle of customers is another import factor affecting the consumer buying behaviour.
Lifestyle refers to the way a person lives in a society and is expressed by the things in his/her
surroundings. It is determined by customer interests, opinions, activities etc and shapes his whole
pattern of acting and interacting in the world.
g. Personality
Personality changes from person to person, time to time and place to place. Therefore it can
greatly influence the buying behaviour of customers. Actually, Personality is not what one wears;
rather it is the totality of behaviour of a man in different circumstances. It has different

characteristics such as: dominance, aggressiveness, self-confidence etc which can be useful to
determine the consumer behaviour for particular product or service.
4.Pschological factors:
It affecting our purchase decision includes motivation (Maslow's hierarchy of needs), perception,
learning, beliefs and attitudes. Other people often influence a consumer s purchase decision. The
marketer needs to know which people are involved in the buying decision and what role each
person plays, so that marketing strategies can also be aimed at these people. Among the factors
influencing consumer behaviour, psychological factors can be divided into 4 categories:
motivation, perception, learning as well as beliefs and attitudes.
a. Motivation
Motivation is what will drive consumers to develop a purchasing behaviour. It is the expression
of a need is which became pressing enough to lead the consumer to want to satisfy it. It is usually
working at a subconscious level and is often difficult to measure. The level of motivation also
affects the buying behaviour of customers. Every person has different needs such as
physiological needs, biological needs, social needs etc.
The nature of the needs is that, some of them are most pressing while others are least pressing.
Therefore a need becomes a motive when it is more pressing to direct the person to seek
satisfaction. Motivation is directly related to the need and is expressed in the same type of
classification as defined in the stages of the consumer buying decision process. To increase sales
and encourage consumers to purchase, brands should try to create, make conscious or reinforce a
need in the consumer s mind so that he develops a purchase motivation.
He will be much more interested in considering and buy their products. They must also,
according to research, the type of product they sell and the consumers they target, pick out the
motivation and the need to which their product respond in order to make them appear as the
solution to the consumers need.
b. Perception
Perception is the process through which an individual selects, organizes and interprets the
information he receives in order to do something that makes sense. The perception of a situation

at a given time may decide if and how the person will act. Selecting, organizing and interpreting
information in a way to produce a meaningful experience of the world is called perception.
There are three different perceptual processes which are selective attention, selective distortion
and selective retention. In case of selective attention, marketers try to attract the customer
attention. Whereas, in case of selective distortion, customers try to 59 interpret the information in
a way that will support what the customers already believe.
d. Selective Attention:
The individual focuses only on a few details or stimulus to which he is subjected. The type of
information or stimuli to which an individual is more sensitive depends on the person. For brands
and advertisers successfully capture and retain the attention of consumers is increasingly
difficult.
For example, many users no longer pay any attention, unconsciously, to banner ads on the
Internet. This kind of process is called Banner Blindness. The attention level also varies
depending on the activity of the individual and the number of other stimuli in the environment.
For example, an individual who is bored during a subway trip will be much more attentive to a
new ad displayed in the tube.
f. Selective Distortion:
In many situations, two people are not going to interpret an information or a stimulus in the same
way. Each individual will have a different perception based on his experience, state of mind,
beliefs and attitudes. Selective distortion leads people to interpret situations in order to make
them consistent with their beliefs and values. For brands, interpret the information in a way that
will support what the customers already believe.
e. Selective Retention:
People do not retain all the information and stimuli they have been exposed to. Selective
retention means what the individual will store and retain from a given situation or a particular
stimulus. As for selective distortion, individuals tend to memorize information that will fit with
their existing beliefs and perceptions. For example, consumers will remember especially the

benefits of a brand or product they like and will forget the drawbacks or competing products
advantages.
f. Learning:
Learning is through action. When we act, we learn. It implies a change in the behaviour resulting
from the experience. The learning changes the behaviour of an individual as he

acquires

information and experience. For example, if you are sick after drinking milk, you had a negative
experience, you associate the milk with this state of discomfort and you learn that you should not
drink milk.
Therefore, you don t buy milk anymore. Rather, if you had a good experience with the product,
you will have much more desire to buy it again next time. The learning theories can be used in
marketing by brands.
g.Beliefs and attitudes:
A belief is a conviction that an individual has on something. Through the experience he acquires,
his learning and his external influences (family, friends, etc.), he will develop beliefs that will
influence his buying behaviour. Customer possesses specific belief and attitude towards various
products.
