Most architectural religious places in Lahore, Pakistan

Lahore city is the second largest city of Pakistan. Lahore attracts many tourists every year, because
its famous for its culture, history, architectural buildings and most important their cuisines, as
people love eating in restaurants. Due to large number of attractions in the city, it is impossible to
visit in couple of days.
The Lahore city is well connected through their transport system. The visitors can use local transport
like Metro buses or taxis to travel to different part of the city. The city has Lahore Junction Railway
Station built during British Raj in 1859 1860. The city airport, called Allama Iqbal International
airport, which is the second largest civil airport in Pakistan. Leading airlines compete and try to offer
cheapest flights to Pakistan.
The Lahore city has beautiful gardens and architectural mosques and religious places that attract
many visitors every year. Foreign travellers can get cheap travel deals, if they plan in advance, as
best time to visit Lahore is from November to March as weather is mild and you can enjoy your stay.
The Wazir Khan Mosque is famous for its extensive glazed ceramic ware work. The mosque took
seven years to build, and started in 1634 AD, during the rule of Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan. This
mosque is described as a mole on the cheek of Lahore. The name Wazir Khan means minister
title given to mosque, as it was built by Hakim Shaikh IIm-ud- din Ansari, a native of Chiniot, who
rose to be the court physician to the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and governor of Lahore. The
mosque is located in the inner city of the Lahore and contains some of the best examples of Qashani
tile work from the Mughal period.
The Data Darbar houses the remains of a Sufi saint, Abul Hassan Ali Hajvery who lived on the site in
the 11 th century. This is one of the oldest Muslims shrines in the South Asia. The shrine was
originally built by the Ghaznavi King Sultan Zakiruddin Ibrahim in the late 11 th century. Muslims and
non-Muslims for the past many centuries visiting the tomb in search of his blessings and everyone is
welcomed in Data Durbar despite of any religion.
The Badshahi Mosque in Lahore was built by Aurangzeb, the sixth Mughal Emperor between 1671
and 1673. This is the fifth largest mosque in the world and second largest in the Pakistan. This
mosque is the most famous landmark and a major tourist attraction. Many Muslim tourists visit this
mosque and offer prayers on regular basis.
The Moti Masjid means the Pearl Mosque was built in 17 th century inside the Lahore Fort. This
white marble building was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. This small mosque is located on
the western side of the Lahore Fort.
The Mosque of Mariyam Zamani Begum, also known as Begum Shahi Mosque, is one of the Lahores
first mosques located in the Walled city of Lahore. This was built by Emperor Jahangir, in the honour
of his mother Begum Mariyam-uz- Zamani.
There are many other historic places to visit in Lahore city. Many visitors travel to Lahore by
international airline called PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) that offer cheap direct flights to
Pakistan for travellers from UK major airports like Manchester, Birmingham and London Heathrow.
Due to high demand and most travellers prefer to travel with other airlines like Etihad, Qatar,
Emirates, Turkish. Some of these airlines offer online cheap flights to Pakistan from Birmingham.
