The Pentaho Certification Program is being relaunched for 2016. We are unveiling a more formal
program that elevates Pentaho certifications in the marketplace and gives our customers and
partners confidence in the quality of certified consultants. Frequently asked questions are
addressed below.
1)
Yes, the Pentaho Solutions Consultant and Pentaho Data Integration certifications are officially
retired. The Pentaho Business Analytics Implementation exam is directly replacing the former
Solution Consultant exam. Replacement of the former PDI exam will be considered in 2016.
2)
As a new member of the Hitachi Group, Pentaho worked closely with Hitachi Data Systems (HDS)
to offer a common exam that supports their shared business objectives and integrates with both
companies' certification programs. Future Pentaho exams will also be developed jointly with HDS.
3)
The new Pentaho Business Analytics Implementation exam was created through a formal
certification development process that included a Job Task Analysis (JTA) followed by an Item
Development Workshop (IDW). Subject matter experts (SMEs) followed international standards for
certification and psychometric best practices to produce a fair, accurate and valid exam,
appropriate for the targeted audiences.
4)
This exam and all future Pentaho certification-level exams are transitioning to become high-stakes
exams delivered in a closed-book, proctored format. This ensures that credentials are rightfully
earned and that they can therefore be properly recognized in the industry.
5)
This exam is offered through Prometric and is available worldwide at all Prometric test centers.
Candidates may register online at http://www.prometric.com/hitachi and after choosing a test
center, select the HH0-590 HDS Certified Specialist - Pentaho Business Analytics Implementation
exam.
6)
Yes, you should attempt to earn the Pentaho Business Analytics Implementation certification
credential because this is the new official standard for Pentaho.
7)
The credential is valid for 3 years and will be managed in the CertMetrics credential management
system. CertMetrics allows you to review and update your demographic data, check your
certification status, view your certification history and download logos and certificates.
Each credential has a unique identifier that can be used for verification purposes. CertMetrics also
offers a "transcript" functionality for sharing credentials with 3rd-parties in a convenient and secure
manner.
8)
Pentaho is currently evaluating the overall certification program to determine which additional
exams should be offered to validate your knowledge and skills in the various areas of the business
and to allow you to obtain official recognition of your abilities.
