DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


The duties of the PC will include the following:
The incumbent should possess a comprehensive understanding of Better
Cotton Standard System in Pakistan
Coordinate the development of efficient mechanisms to ensure implementation
of Better Cotton Standard System in the project area
Provide field team with expert guidance on the requirements of Better Cotton
Standard System with a particular emphasis on the compliance to Better
Cotton Standard System at farm level
Carrying out assessments for the level of implementation of the Better
Cotton Standard System for desired effect of improving the economic,
environmental and social sustainability of cotton farming sector (high-level
monitoring of implementation)
Ensure effective mechanism for capacity building of field teams on Better
Cotton Standard System
Support the Producer Units in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning by
making available relevant data regarding Better Cotton Standard System
Provide oversight and guidance to the Project Management Unit (PMU) in
the Project area on all matters pertaining to the smooth operation of the
Project, in accordance with procedures and obligations specified in the
project Agreement and implementation arrangements detailed in the Project
Activity Plan;
In close collaboration with Manager SAP prepare the Annual Work Plan and
Budget in relation to the Project design and available financing, and oversee
the implementation of the activities as per the approved by PMU;
In addition to the internal documentation (technical reports, financial
documentation and accounts, procurement requests, etc.) prepared at the
project office level, coordinate the submission of other internal
documentation as appropriate and in accordance with project plan
Ensure implementation of the participatory, iterative, interactive , multifaceted approaches of the Project that are crucial to maintaining its focus
on ginning SMEs in the project area

Represent and promote the Project as required and maintain close


continued collaboration with the stakeholders;
In collaboration with Manager SAP coordinate studies and surveys that
involve assessments across the whole Project area and/or are applicable
to the other project sites
Receive and arrange for reproduction and circulation of reports, studies
and other Project documentation from consultants as appropriate.
Secure the submission of a detailed expenditure report on monthly basis
in accordance with WWF-Pakistan Financial Rules and Regulations;
To plan & coordinate all activities aimed at enhancing the awareness level
of Better Cotton Standard System among out reach groups
Developing reference materials on Better Cotton Best practices after
validating them at local level.

Maintain a close liaison with other CBOs and NGOs and Line Departments
in the area.

Planning & organizing training and other events for local communities and
other partners
Coordination preparation and logistical planning of various events - e.g.,
training workshops meetings, conferences, seminars etc. including the
preparation of agenda and minutes of meetings,
Preparing & presenting the Annual/quarterly/ monthly Project Activity Plan.
Tracking assigned tasks/project steps/timetables, coordinating with
relevant stakeholders, and providing assistance and/or information on
project related matters.
Reviewing quarterly reports to meet donor requirements including project
documents, reports, correspondence and others,

Maintain proper documentation of field activities (daily & weekly) and


submit fortnightly reports to the Manager SAP.

Any other task assigned by the Director SAP, Senior Manager SAP &
Manager SAP .

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


A post-graduate degree from a recognized higher education institution
in Agriculture

At least 3 years previous experience with an international NGO/multilateral or inter-governmental agency is an advantage.

Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work


independently, handle a variety of concurrent activities, rank priorities,
organize work efficiently, and deliver assignments in a timely manner
often under time constraints;

Skills in developing training awareness raising literature/materials for


dissemination among targeted audience & general public;

Skills in communicating, both orally and in writing, with Fluency in


written and spoken English essential.

Report writing skills and ability to deliver them within a timeline.

Computer literacy, with high proficiency in the use of standard office


software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint);

Proven knowledge of issues relating to environment


Pakistan agriculture in particular is an advantage

Ability to cope with varied workload and flexible working hours,


including travelling to field offices, and to work independently.
