Policy

2.5 Battery Troubleshooting Procedure/Guidelines

All Battery replacement must be executed according to the replacement policy in
section 3 of this process document.

Replacement approval subject to Lenovos discretion.

3. Replacement Process and Policy

3.1 Battery must be in warranty period
Notes:
A. Battery Capacity check in Power Manager is determined by Battery Full Charge
Capacity, Design Capacity, and Cycle Count.
Full Charge Capacity is updated when:
Battery is discharged from 100% to 4% or lower, with no charging before
reaching 4%
Battery Fuel Gauge Reset is performed from Power Manager. This forces the
battery to charge to 100% and discharge completely

If you have not performed a full discharge recently, it may be necessary to run a gauge
reset to get an accurate Full Charge Capacity. Since FCC can only adjust down a
maximum of 30% in a single cycle, it may be necessary to run a 2nd gauge reset in
some cases.
