Iver Village Infant School - Caring, Growing, Learning in the Heart of the Community

Welcome to our school newsletter - Issue 15

Friday 22nd April 2016
We are delighted to announce that the Governing Body, after discussions with the owner of
Richings Park Pre-school, are proposing that their nursery provision is integrated into our
school. This pre-school was due to close in July, due to staff retirement, however the
Governors of Iver Village Infant School are in agreement that it would be in the best interests
of the children, school and the community, that this should happen. At the same time the
Governors also agreed to lower the age of admission to our school (to 2 years of age) in
order to facilitate the integration.
If the proposal goes ahead, from September 2016, the nursery will come under the management of the school
however it will still remain at its current site. Please note that there is no change proposed to our determined
admission arrangements. The schools determined admission arrangements for school entry to Reception
remain unchanged and there is no change to the fact that a nursery place does not in any way guarantee a
place at the school. We will, of course, continue to work closely with the other preschools and nursery
provisions to ensure all children are as prepared as possible when they start school. A consultation letter with
further information will be sent out on Monday 25th April for you to share your views and questions.

We were delighted to see the arrival of our long awaited

outdoor classroom. Thanks to your generosity we were
able to fund this building. This will support the
development of our outside learning curriculum and in
the future becoming a forest school.

What to wearsummer is here.

Finally the sun is starting
to shine and children
may want to wear their
summer uniform. We are
moving away from the
blue summer dress to a
red colour however we
understand that this will
take time so a blue or red
summer dress can be worn
along with black or grey
shorts. Please no boots or
sandals.
