7. Once you clicked Edit keys you will find the description key sets.
8. Right click on last item on the list and select new
9. In the code column type your new description (eg. CL*,TE*, etc)
10. In the style column place a tick in the box and double click <Default>. Select a new style for
your description. ( At this point you can create your own style as well)
11. In the point label style column choose what type of data to be presented in the view.
12. Remain the format column as it is.
13. Select a suitable layer in the layer column.
14. Remain the other parameters as it is.
15. Fill all the description key sets that will match your survey data in the similar manner.
Import points
5. Click on the big + sign on upper right corner to locate your point file. Browse to your point file
named practice point. You will see a green mark at the file name column if importing is ok.
6. Once it is imported specify point file format. Select PNEZD comma delimited as the option.
You will see a sample of your data in the preview section.
7. Tick Add points to point group and give a name to your group by clicking [+] sign.
8. Remain other parameter as it is. Click OK.
9. To see your points type zoom extent in the command bar of civil 3D.
3. In the information tab give name as CL for your point group. And further give a point style
and a point label style.
4. Move to Raw Description Matching tab.
5. Select CL* and put a tick mark on it. Click ok. You will see a new point group in the point
groups with name CL.
Export Points
1. Go to the point group you want to export in the prospector tab point groups
2. Right click on the point group name and select export points from the menu.
3. Select the point file format from the Export points window.
4. Select a destination file location (Where you save the export points file) and give a name for the
file. This can be a csv file or txt file.
5. Select which point group should be exported. If you uncheck Limit to point in point group all
the points will be exported.
6. Remain other options as it is and click OK.
