INTRODUCTION OF USER ACCOUNTS

A user account is a set of information that inform windows vista what files and
folders you can access. The user accounts are generally created by the
administrator. Each user account is provided with a unique username and
password. User Accounts are required to establish a relationship between a user
and a Computer, network or an information service. When you install Windows
Vista on your computer, by default a user account is created, that is the
administrator account. User accounts generally consist of username and
password.

TYPES OF USER ACCOUNT:1. Administrator account: - This account has access to all the advanced
settings of a computer. An administrator account is a user account that allows
you to make changes that will affect other users. Administrators can change
security settings, install software and hardware, and access all files on the
computer. Administrators can also make changes to other user accounts.
There are two types of administrator account: built in administrator and
computer administrator created by user.
The built-in administrator account is disabled and the account created by user
himself is used. You need to create a user account, when you set up windows.
This account is an administrator account that allows you to set up your
computer and install any programs that you would like to use. Once you have
finished setting up your computer, we recommend that you use a standard user
account for your day-to-day computing. It's more secure to use a standard user
account instead of an administrator account
2. Guest Account - It is used and created for users who need temporary access
to the computer or network of computers. A guest account is an account for
users who don't have a permanent account on your computer. Without accessing
your personal files it allows people to use your computer. People using the guest
account can't install software or hardware, change settings, or create a password.
By default, Guest account is disabled. If you required guest account you need to
turn on.
3. Standard Accounts - It is required and used for everyday computing
experience. This is the most basic type of user account. It allows a person to use
most of the capabilities of the computer, but it needs a permission from an

administrator to make changes that affect other users or the security of the
computer.
You can use most programs that are installed on the computer, but you
cannot install or uninstall software and hardware, delete files that are required
for the computer to work, or change setting of the computer that affect other
user. If you are using a standard account, you need to provide an administrator
password for some programs before you perform certain tasks.
