Marketing Manager, for guiding me with valuable information which helped in
completing the project work successfully.

V.C.E.T and Dr. UDAYASHANKAR Director, Department of Management Studies for
providing me an opportunity to undertake project.

I am extremely grateful to my guide Ms. SUCHITHRA.K. for her constant

encouragement, guidance and innovative ideas which played a key role in completion of
my project.
 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The title of the study is “A study on effectiveness of Supply Chain Management

at Dakshina Kannada Milk Union (DKMU) with special emphasis on the
Distribution Network”.

The study was mainly done to find out how the SUPPPLY CHAIN
MANAGEMENT system functions effectively in Dakshina Kannada Milk Union
(DKMU) and to what extent it is effective, its scope for the future. It also states the
objectives, scope and limitation of the study. The data for analysis was collected through
primary sources such as questionnaire and secondary sources such as news papers,
journals etc. The sample size for the study was 50 respondents. The data collected was
analyzed and presented using appropriate statistical methods.

In the study it was found that majority of the respondents were satisfied with the
existing supply chain management system followed by the organization. But to make it
more effective it was suggested to give very good feedback from the dealers about the
Supply Chain Management.
