Low heat MMA-Electrode for high strength & high stress joints on most steels
Description:
XHD-2222 is a high nickel alloy electrode that produces
deposits with excellent toughness, capable of withstanding
high stresses even under impact loading. These unusual
properties give it the versatility to serve for E+C TeroCote
wear protective applications as well as a joining electrode.
XHD-2222 electrode has a deposition rate that is 60%
faster than conventional nickel-chromium alloy electrodes,
yet it will not overheat. Spray-type alloy transfer provides
exceptionally good weld-ability on both AC and DC
currents.
Easy to use:
XHD-2222 has excellent weld-ability and a very fast
deposition rate, key factors in facilitating work on massive
parts. Exceptionally low spatter and easily removed slag.
Spray-type alloy transfer.
Corrosion resistance:
Precisely controlled high alloy content gives XHD-2222
deposits good resistance to heat, oxidation and corrosion.
Deposit characteristics:
XHD-2222 deposits have a nickel-alloy chemistry that
provides good strength and corrosion resistance. Deposits
exhibit good wash and fluidity. The soft arc drive minimises
base metal pickup and virtually eliminates spatter. Slag
removal is easy. Deposits show good bead formation with
uniform, medium-size ripples.
Easy weld-ability on both AC /DC.
Good corrosion resistance.
Superior oxidation resistance.
Excellent thermal shock resistance.
150 % yield for higher deposition rate.
Insensitive to overheating.
Easy slag removal.

Applications:
Protective coatings and/or joining: flame hardening
equipment, heat treating trays, pipe flanges, barrels, gate
valves, hooks, baskets, gas plants, steel mill roll ends,
carbon dioxide equipment, guides, tongs, heat treating
racks and related equipment.
XHD-2222 deposits have the key feature of being able to
withstand stresses produced by thermal cycling or by
strains caused by weld shrinkage in massive sections. This
unique alloy is well suited for use on all steel alloys, nickel
alloys; and for joining combinations of dissimilar alloys.
