ABSTRAK

Abstract
This is a case study on nine trainees undergoing teaching practices
to identify problems frequently encountered and their causes. This
study is expected to help increase the effectiveness of teaching
practices among teacher trainees. Data were obtained from
observations of classroom teaching practices recorded as anecdotal
records, document analysis and interviews with trainees. Data were
analyzed using NVIVO8 software. The study found six problems that
are being faced by trainees. They are the less skilled to conduct an
evaluation for every step of teaching, less adept at managing
diversity in teaching and learning techniques, less adept at applying
thinking skills, unskilled to formulate relevance in induction set, less
adept at using teaching aids effectively, and less adept at
controlling classroom. The researcher suggest that further research
is based on any issues that have been disclosed in this study.
