Re: EIT position application
Hello,
My name is Andre Diotte and I am a fourth year mechanical engineering student at Laurentian University.
Please accept this letter as my application for the Engineer-In-Training position that is currently available
in your office. Based on my experiences and skills, I believe I am the right candidate for this role.
As the Technical & Quality Intern for BMW Group Canada, I routinely published Service Information
Bulletins (SIBs). These SIBs required a high level of attention to detail in terms of the technical
information provided as well as branding. Your reports, plans, and other documentation will receive the
same polished care.
I already have a lot of experience interacting professionally with inter-departmental coworkers and
external parties. For example, at BMW Group Canada I corresponded regularly with national Retailers,
technicians, and international colleagues. Later, during my time at the Canada Revenue Agency, I further
honed my verbal communication skills as a Bilingual Telephone Representative. In this role, I received
approximately 75 confidential telephone calls per day.
My degree in mathematics is a solid foundation for my future in your company. I am committed to
performing comprehensive assessments and achieving accurate solutions. I believe my technical abilities
are exhibited through my academic achievements. I was on the Presidents List for two years at UOIT and
I am currently on the Deans List at Laurentian University. In the same fashion, I fully intend to commit
myself to my new role at IBI.
I have attached my resume for your review. You will find a bulleted section for engineering tools that I
have acquired over the course of my professional and educational experiences. Concerning the
qualifications for the vacant position, I am very proficient with the MS Office programs for project
management, Unigraphics NX for CAD modeling, and ABAQUS for stress analysis.
Should you need to substantiate the quality of my reporting, I am more than happy to supply copies of
completed projects for my upper year engineering courses. They demonstrate my focus, thoroughness,
and decisiveness vis--vis calculations and documentation.
Upon your request, I can have a letter of recommendation written to your attention by one of my course
instructors. Similarly, I can forward university transcripts to you.
Thank you very much for your consideration. Should you require any more information, please do not
hesitate to contact me at (705) 626-3198.
Sincerely,
Andre
