Day 1: Departure from the USA - 8/3/17
Day 2: Venice
Welcome to Venice, the Jewel of the Adriatic,
where your CHA Tour Director is waiting to escort
you to your hotel. The balance of the day is yours to
relax and unwind from your journey.
Day 3: Venice
Your expert local guide introduces you to the
treasures of Venice on your morning sightseeing tour.
Admire Doges Palace, explore bustling Piazza San
Marco and visit beautiful St. Marks Basilica. A visit
to a local Glass Factory for a glass-blowing
demonstration ends your morning tour. Enjoy a free
afternoon to explore Venice at your own pace.
Day 4: Venice-Rome
Journey south to Rome. Later, get better acquainted
with the Eternal City on a CHA Walking Tour.
Day 5: Rome
Explore the wonders of Vatican City on this
mornings guided sightseeing tour. Visit
St. Peters Basilica, the Catholic worlds largest
church, and the Sistine Chapel to marvel
at Michelangelos superbly painted ceiling. Later,
learn more about the ancient Roman civilization as
you admire the Arch of Constantine, the Circus
Maximus, Capitoline Hill and the sprawling ruins of
the Roman Forum. Todays sightseeing highlight is a
visit to the Colosseum, the worlds most glorious

surviving Roman amphitheatre, where gladiators and


beasts once fought.
Day 6: Rome-Florence
Travel to Florence, the Cradle of the Italian
Renaissance, where guided sightseeing includes
visits to the Gothic Duomo, the Galleria
dellAccademia to admire Michelangelos David
and a Florentine Leather Factory. Enjoy an afternoon
at leisure to stroll across the Ponte Vecchio for
spectacular views of the River Arno.
Day 7: Florence-Pisa-Nice
See Pisas gravity-defying Leaning Tower en route to
Nice along the sparkling French Riviera.
Day 8: Nice-Eze-Monaco-Nice
A morning orientation tour takes you along Nices
elegant 19th-century Promenade des Anglais and the
Old Citys winding streets. This afternoon, enjoy an
excursion to hilltop Eze to visit its world-renowned
perfume factory and to the tiny principality of
Monaco to visit the cathedral where Princess Grace
is buried.
Day 9: Nice-Barcelona
Journey via Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon to
Spain. Proceed to the Catalonian capital of
Barcelona.
Day 10: Barcelona
This mornings guided sightseeing of Barcelona
features the Plaza de Catalonia, Montjuic Park, Paseo

de Gracia and the Monument to Christopher


Columbus. Observe the rich history of the Gothic
quarter which dates back to Roman times! Included
on your tour are visits to architect Antonio Gaudis
unfinished cathedral, the Church of La Sagrada
Familia, and his imaginative Guell Park.
Day 11: Barcelona-Zaragoza-Madrid
Stop in historic Zaragoza, the capital of the Aragon
region, en route to Madrid, Spains capital since
1561.
Day 12: Madrid
This mornings guided sightseeing tour of Madrid
highlights the Plaza de Espaa and the Cervantes
Monument with its statues of beloved literary
characters Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. Admire
the historic Plaza Mayor, the citys most important
architectural landmark, and enjoy views of the Alcala
Gate, Oriente Square and the Parliament. Included is
a visit to the 18th-century Royal Palace, ornately
decorated with fine tapestries and furnishings. End
your tour at the world-renowned Prado Museum,
where the finest works of Spains greatest artists El
Greco, Velazquez and Goya are on display. Explore
the museums many treasures with the assistance of
your tour director. The remainder of the day is yours
for last-minute sightseeing or souvenir shopping.
Day 13: Departure for the USA
