Causes and effects of Global Warming

Since 1870 global sea levels have risen by about 8 inches. However, this is not the
only reason for global warming problems all around the world. There is many causes
and effects for this but there are solutions for it also.
Causes of global warming
1. Burning fossil fuels are very dangerous since they release Carbon dioxide into the
atmosphere. Because of this, the layer of greenhouse gas is getting thicker, which
is, in turn, making the Earth warmer1. A lot of fossils fuels such as coal are burnt and
used as fuel in vehicles like cars that we use every day. That's why the greenhouse
layer is getting thicker rapidly in a short period of time.
2. Deforestation is also a major cause of global warming. It can have a huge impact
in the environment. Cutting down trees and then burning them releases carbon
dioxide, which is greenhouse gas, increasing global warming 2. Deforestation in
tropical rainforests also adds more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere than the sum
total of cars and trucks on the worlds roads. According to the World Carfree
Network (WCN), cars and trucks account for about 14 percent of global carbon
emissions, while most analysts attribute upwards of 15 percent to
deforestation3.Trees also play a critical role in absorbing the greenhouse gases that
fuel global warming. Fewer forests mean larger amounts of greenhouse gases
entering the atmosphereand increased speed and severity of global warming 4.
Effects of global warming
2. Global warming also effects the rise in sea level. When sea levels rise rapidly,
even a small increase can have devastating effects on coastal habitats. As seawater
reaches farther inland, it can cause destructive erosion, flooding of wetlands,
contamination of aquifers and agricultural soils, and loss of habitat for fish, birds,
and plants. When large storms hit land, higher sea levels mean more powerful
storms that can clear away everything in their path. In addition to that, hundreds of
millions of people live in areas that will become more vulnerable to flooding. Higher
sea levels would force them to abandon their homes and relocate. Low-lying islands
could be submerged completely.5 Antarctica and Greenland contain the largest
