Instructions
Next Tuesday 18th April there is no A2 Media lesson.

You will complete this learning activity pack instead of coming into

lesson.
You will use the prezi on the CID blog to help you with your learning
The result of your learning will be compiled into a presentation
This is a group project and you will work in pairs or small groups of
3s
o activities 1 and 2 must be completed individually
o for activities 3,4, 5 and 6 you may want to:
do together as a group
delegate within the group (so each of you find a text and
then complete activities 4 and 5 individually with your

selected text)
You will present to the class in the first half of the next weeks

lesson on Tuesday 25th April

Your presentation should last approximately 5 to 10 minutes

or youth
o 1 Youtube vlog authored by
a teen or youth
o 1 social media account (fb/
twitter/ Instagram)

Complete Hand out 1 to record
the representation of youth by
the author within the text
Using handout 2, for each of your
3 case study texts, apply
Buckingham and Gauntletts
identify any other theories we
have covered which you feel may
be applicable
Create a visual presentation
using Prezi, emaze or slides
Your presentation must include
the following for EACH of your 3
case study texts
o the url or account name
o some detail about the
author
o some detail about who the
audience is made up of
o images used by the author
some analysis of the
representation of youth
how is it constructed
(choice of images, shot
types, mise-en-scene,
editing of images etc..)
o application of at least 2
theoretical ideas from
Buckingham and Gauntlett
post your presentation to the
blog
you will need to access it to
present to the class in the
following lesson
