The shall
sine qua non
PEFCR/OEFSR shall be developed by industry. The Commission shall
play a watchdog role and control the rules approval process.
The verification activities shall be managed through third party
independent verification (paid by applicants). Market surveillance (MS)
shall play some market surveillance activities.

The Commission shall provide resources to give free access to secondary

data in PEFCR/OEFSR.
The Commission shall support the costs for adapting the EF tool (currently
SMEs tool) to each PEFCR/OEFSR.

PEF and ISO will meet

Currently, the sector follows the standard EN 15804 to assess the

environmental impact of construction products, and the Product
Environmental Footprint (PEF) method, released by the EU Executive in
April 2013.
At the end of the ongoing 3-year pilot phase for the PEF, the Commission
will revise the two standards with the aim of reconciling them.

EU Energy Data Review

GaBi energy data has very good quality
Aim of the review
Assure that high quality energy LCI data are used in the European
Reference Life-Cycle Database (ELCD). [ELCD is important for PEF]
Based on
Quality indicators developed within the International Reference Life
Cycle Data System (ILCD) handbook
Comparison between
GaBi, ecoinvent, GEMIS and E3
Result
GaBi datasets showed very good quality in the majority of the considered
datasets, especially in:
Technology representativeness
Methodology
Completeness
