Definition: Anthropology
1. Bipedalism: the trait of habitually walking on two legs.
2. Radiometric dating: a process that is used to determine the age of an object, based on measuring the
amount of radioactive material it has.
3. Subculture: a small group within a larger group who share the common system of values, beliefs, attitude,
behaviors, and lifestyle distinct from those of larger group.
4. Kinship: the relationship between two or more people that is based on common ancestry marriage and
adoption.
5. Informant: a reliable and knowledgeable who provides specific information to an anthropologist study her
or his community.
6. Ethnography: the written account of the culture.
7. Ethnology: the study of origins and cultures of different races and peoples.
8. Participant observation: a careful watching of a group in some cases living with its member and
participating in their culture.
9. Hypothesis: an idea or an explanation of something that is based on known facts but has not yet been
proved.
10. Culture: the total system of ideas, values, behaviors, and attitudes of society commonly shared by most
members of a society.
11. Ethnocentric: believing that ones own culture is superior to all others.
12. Fossil: preserved remains of biological matter.
13. Archeology: the study of the building, graves, tools, and other objects which belonged to people who lived
in the past, in order to learn about their culture and society.

or studies linguistic.

society or a country at particular period of time.

studying.
23. Paleoanthropology: the study that helps legal agencies to identify human remains after the mass disaster,
war, homicides, suicide, and accidental death.
24. Hominin: a human or human ancestor.
25. Forensic anthropology: a member of the most developed or intelligent group of mammals, including
human, monkeys, and apes.
