PRODUCT INFORMATION
Quality
The quality assurance program of Ropeblock BV
is ISO 9001 certified.
Materials
Our standard socket range is available in cast
alloy steel with high mechanical properties. The
Shortbow range is made of high alloy steel with
extremely high mechanical properties.
All our sockets are suitable for usage in a low
temperature enviroment. All of the materials
meet the requirements of an impact value of
42 Joule/-20C Charpy-V.
Testing
Sockets can be proofloaded in accordance with
the Ropeblock BV test program. Witnessing of
non-destructive examinations by independent
inspection agencies can be offered as an option.

certificate showing:

Material certificates
Additional material inspection and testing by
authorized agencies is possible. If ordered a
3.1.C-EN 10204/DIN 50049 certificate can be
supplied.
Finishing
Our standard sockets are delivered painted in
blue or hot dipped galvanized.
Stock
All our Sockets are available ex-stock, ensuring short-time deliveries.

Swage sockets are recommended for use on 6x19 or 6x37 IWRC regular lay ropes and also satisfactory on galvanized
bridge rope. They are not recommended for use on fiber core ropes.
Before using swage sockets with other type lay, construction or grade of wire rope, it is recommended that the termination
be proofloaded to prove the adequacy of the assembly.
Sockets properly applied have an efficiency rating of 100% based on the catalog strenght of the used wire rope.
Forged from special steel for cold swaging.
