Comparatives:
We use the comparative form of adjectives to
compare two people, things or places.
e.g: Tim is strong, but Tom is stronger.
We usually use than with comparative
adjectives.
e.g: Tom is stronger than Tim.

Superlatives:
We use the superlative form of
adjectives
to compare three or more people,
things
or places.
We normally use the before superlatives.
e.g: Ed is the tallest out of the three.

Spelling Rules to remember :


One syllable words just add er
eg: tall .taller
If the word ends in e just add r.
eg large larger
If the word ends in a consonant and y change y to ier
eg happy ----happier.
If the word ends in a vowel and a y add er:
eg: grey ---greyer
