This manual will help you understand, set up, and safely use the MonoRover. It is
important that you adhere to all safety warnings and cautions that appear
throughout this manual, and that you use good judgment when riding. Please

learn to ride safely!
Note: Balancing technology cannot prevent injury if you do not ride the
MonoRover safely. Please review the below safety warnings.

RISK OF DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY

Assumption of Risk: By riding our MonoRover, the user acknowledges and accepts
responsibility of all risks associated with the use of the MonoRover Hands-Free
Smart Board, which may include, but are not limited to: muscle injuries, broken
bones, lacerations, serious injury, and possibly death, which may be sustained
while using your MonoRover.
Please read the entirety of this manual before using your MonoRover and
understand all risks associated. If you have any questions, please contact
MonoRover before attempting to use your Hands-Free Smart Board.

Safety Warnings

It is critical for you to read, understand, and follow this instructional manual. Riding any electrical
transportation product can be a hazardous activity. Certain conditions may cause the equipment to fail
without fault of the manufacturer. Whenever you ride the MonoRover, you risk serious injury or death from
collisions, falls, or loss of control. Your safety and enjoyable experience is our highest priority, so please
continue reading.

Not for Specific Users

MonoRover products are not intended for users with the following conditions or situations:

- Anyone with heart disease, high blood pressure, pregnant or may become pregnant, or limited mobility, etc.,
is not advised to ride this rover
- Any individual that exceeds the maximum weight of 220 lbs (100 Kg)
- Keep away from small children. All riders must be over 4 tall and minimum weight of 44 lbs (20 Kg)
- Persons who are not sober or clear-headed, such as one under the effect of alcohol or drugs, should not use
this product.

Riding Condition Requirements

- Always wear your safety gear like helmet, knee, and elbow pads for protection.
- Stay highly focused and maintain enough distance from scooters or other subjects while riding.
- Rover chasing is prohibited
- Never carry passengers or allow more than one person at a time to use this device
- Do NOT rove in the following circumstances:

Extreme conditions like wet, rainy, icy, or snowy weather

Bumpy roads, crowded regions, or anywhere with limited visibility
Be aware of, and obey, local laws and regulations.

Cautions for Battery and Charger

- As for the thermal and chemical nature of the battery, make sure to charge the battery in a clean, dry
location away from direct sunlight, flames, or sparks, including but not limited to flammable, steam, liquid,
dust or fiber, fire, explosion, etc.
- With the limited capacity of the battery, please avoid over-charging by controlling charge time (average
charging time: 2 hours), voltage and current.
- Chargers have built-in overcharge protection to prevent battery from overcharging. However, for safety,
users should always disconnect the charger to the product when finishing charging.
- Regularly examine the battery and the charger to make sure they are working properly. Once damage is
found, do NOT connect or plug in your charger until it is repaired or replaced with a new product
- NEVER dissemble the battery or the charger.
- DO NOT Charge unit overnight, and remove from charger once fully charged (approximately 90-120 minutes)

Tires
Before you begin, make sure the tires are without any visible damage.

Wheels
Impacting the wheels against any hard surface can damage the wheels. Practice riding only in vast, open areas
clear from curbs, parking blocks and other obstacles, including things you may fall on or into if you lose your
balance. Wheels are not covered under the MonoRover limited warranty.

Hardware/Loose Parts
Before every ride, check all parts, such as inside key parts, bolts, fasteners, etc., to ensure they are secure and
assembled correctly. There should not be any unusual rattles or sounds from loose partsor broken
components. If the unit is damaged, do not ride.

Safety Gear
Always wear proper protective gear, such as an approved safety helmet. In addition elbow pads, kneepads,
and wrist guards are strongly recommended. Always wear athletic shoes (lace-up shoes with rubber soles) and
keep shoelaces tied and out of the way of the wheels, motor and drive system. Never ride barefoot or in
sandals, or while wearing any type of open-toed shoe.

Before You Begin

Weight Limit

Minimum Weight: 44lb. (20kg)

DO NOT EXCEED 220lb (100kg) including backpacks and other items that may be carried by the rider.
Exceeding the weight limit could lead to injury to the rider and damage to the MonoRover.

Riding Distance
The range of distance is dependent on some factors as followed:

Terrain: Smoothing and flowing paths instead of bumpy are best for longest rides.
Weight: Heavier weight will decrease the maximum distance.
Temperature: Extreme temperatures will reduce distance.
Maintenance: Appropriate maintenance of the battery and the charger will increase the range.
Driving Tips: Keep medium speed for maximum distance; repeated stops/starts and repeated
accelerations may reduce the riding distance.

Speed Limit

Maximum Speed: 8 MPH (12.8 KM/H)

With excessive speed, the buzzer will be on, warning you to slow down.
Appropriate speed also improves the balance of riders to make ones ride safer.

Note
Unbalanced riding goes with the buzzer and the indicator light activated.
WARNING: Do not attempt to make quick, sharp turns as this may cause the rider to lose balance. Turns should be
executed at a safe and deliberate speed to ensure safety.

How to Operate

How it Works
The MonoRover moves due to fore and after foot platform tilt caused by the riders foot (or feet).
Direction, speed, and stopping are controlled by the degree to which the riders feet cause the foot platforms
of the MonoRover to no longer be parallel to the ground.
Moving and Charging Instruction
When you step on the MonoRover foot platforms:
Holding your feet, mostly all your toes, pressed towards the ground moves the MonoRover forward.
Holding your feet, mostly your heels, pressed towards the ground moves the MonoRover backward.
Wheel-turns can be done when your feet stress towards the ground on the front side of the foot platform
on the outside of the turn. (I.e. Placing the front of the right foot platform towards the ground will
cause the unit to turn counter-clockwise, placing the front of the left foot platform towards the ground
will cause the unit to turn clockwise)
A rider can spin in place by pushing downward on the front edge of one foot platform while simultaneously
pushing downward on the rear edge of the other foot platform. (I.e. Placing the front of the right foot
platform toward the ground while simultaneously placing the rear of the left foot platform towards the
ground)
Accelerating and Stopping:
To increase speed, place the front of the foot platforms at a greater angle towards the ground
To decrease speed, place the rear of the foot platforms at a greater angle towards the ground
When slowing or stopping, if you continue to apply force to the rear edge of the foot platforms,, you may
not only stop but continue in reverse of your original direction

How to Get on
Power On:

Set the MonoRover on the ground and turn the power switch on. The green light on the top of the unit
will light up. The MonoRover can go in any direction.

 First Foot
While standing behind the MonoRover, put one foot on a foot platform, closer to the wheel than to
the center. Use that foot to activate the foot platform by bringing that foot platform to a balanced,
level position.
Confirm Activation
Confirm the first foot platform is activated. Move your foot back and forth and feel the response from
the unit. Play with this single foot platform until you are comfortable keeping the foot platform motion
minimal.
Step Up
With the first foot platform stable and still, step up on the second foot platform with your second foot.
Do this away from furniture and other large objects. Dont use a fixed object to brace or lift yourself
Keep your weight evenly distributed between the two foot platforms. If you are uncomfortable, step
back off and repeat from step 2. Try to stand on the MonoRover without moving.
Note
Do not lift the MonoRover off the ground while the unit is powered on.
Riding Tips
- Certainly the rider may "lean" on the MonoRover, but leaning only affects the foot platform's position to the
extent the rider's feet change their position. If the rider's ankles are held at a consistent 90 angle, leaning will
result in tilting. Note that leaning can exaggerate shifting of weight, which may affect the ability of a rider to
recover to a level posture increasing the possibility of loss of balance.
- Before your very first ride, expect to spend up to ten minutes in this stage of learning how to stand
comfortably on the MonoRover.

How to Ride
Stand in Place
MonoRover is unique among two-wheeled items in that the active stabilization it provides allows you
to stand in place. A scooter or bicycle may balance more easily when it moves, but a MonoRover can
balance even while stationary.
Move Forward
To move forward, press down gradually with your feet on the fronts of both foot platforms. Do not
lunge forward or lean excessively, as you may lose your balance.

 Slow Down
To slow down or stop, apply pressure to the rear edges of the foot platforms by pushing down with
your heels. Leaning back somewhat may be useful but remember your feet are giving the instructions!
If you continue pushing the rear edges with your heels, you will be able to travel backwards.
Wheel-Turn
To turn right, slightly push your right foot down on the front of the right foot platform; to turn left,
push down on the front of the left foot platform. This idea is to make one wheel turn a little bit faster
than the other wheel.
Rotate in Place
To rotate in place, push down on the front of one-foot platform while pushing down with equal force
on the rear of the other foot platform.
Not Too Fast
The recommended top speed of the MonoRover is approximately six miles per hour (9 km/h). Speed may be
affected by rider weight, surface conditions, battery charge, etc. Do not attempt to override by continuing
acceleration because risks of falling may greatly increase

How to Get off

Slow down the unit to bring to a complete stop
Step to the back of the unit, one foot at a time, to dismount the MonoRover
Power down by pushing the power switch once safely off the device

The MonoRover has several built in protection features, including:

Sensor alarm for unlevelled use on the slope.
Internal malfunction indication.

Riding Tips
- Learn to ride the MonoRover in a vast, safe area free from all forms of interference.
- Keep your posture upright, but relaxed. Align your body over the MonoRover and use a wide stance with
your feet close to the wheels.
- Be cautious. Look around and check on the activity area that you are going to be into.

- Have your arms comfortably at your side.

- Start at a slow and comfortable pace. Never aggressively accelerate or lunge forward.
- Be careful and considerate of others.
- Always ride under control at a speed that is safe for you and those around you.
- Always be prepared to stop.

WARNING:
Remember, the MonoRover is a motor vehicle, and is treated as such by local law. You can and will be arrested
for operating this unit while intoxicated. Many cities have restrictions on where you can drive motor vehicles,
and additional restrictions on driving non-automobiles on streets and highways may apply. See your local laws
and regulations before riding on public road or areas.

Maintenance of the Battery

Battery Recharge
One receiving your MonoRover, plug into the charger until fully charged (light on charger will turn green)

Before charging, make sure the unit and charger are both within the recommended temperature range
from -15C to 45C.
Always charge the battery immediately after riding.
Fully charge battery before storing for extended periods of time, and ensure an appropriate storage.

Failure to unplug charger after full charged is indicated (green light on charger) could result in
overheating of the unit. Please DO NOT leave charged overnight or for extended periods of time.
Failure to do so could result in personal and property damage

Make sure the MonoRover power switch is turned OFF when the unit is not in use. If the power switch is
left on for an extended period of time, the battery may reach a stage at which it will no longer hold a
charge.

Note

Terminate use of this product if you experience any of the following:

i. Abnormal smell or high temperature generated.
ii. Any substance leaking.
Do NOT touch battery if it is leaking.

Do NOT let children come near the charger or the battery.

Batteries contain dangerous substances, do NOT dissemble the battery or insert any material into the
battery.
Failure to recharge the battery at least once a month may result in a battery that will no longer accept a
charge.

Battery Power Level Indicators

- Solid Green: Battery power capacity is 15 to 100 percent.
- Flashing Green: Low power capacity from 5 to 15 percent, needs to charge.
- Solid Red: Battery power capacity is below 5 percent.
- Flashing Red: Stop riding and recharge.

Maintenance of the Charger

WARNING

- Use ONLY the recommended charger. Batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.The charger
is not a toy. Always disconnect the charger before wiping down and/or cleaning the MonoRover with a damp
cloth.
- The charger supplied with the MonoRover should be regularly examined for damage to the cord, plug,
enclosure and other parts.In the event of such damage, the MonoRover must not be charged until it has
been repaired or replaced.
Note
- If the charger gets warm during regular use, this is normal and no need to be worried. If your charger does
not get warm during use, it does not mean that it is not working properly. Overcharge will cause fire at the
worst.
- Recharge time: 60 - 90 minutes for 80 % battery capacity. The recommended charging time is 2 hours.
- Unplug charger from the wall outlet when it is not in use.

Use the Charger

LEDNote: Make sure the power switch is in the OFF position.

1 Plug the charger into wall outlet. The light indicator should be green.
Note: If green light (LED) is not on, try another outlet.

2 Plug the charger into the charger port on the MonoRover. The light on the charger should turn red during
charging. The light will turn green again when charging is complete.

MonoRover Tips
Once you have charged the battery, follow these six easy steps:
Remember to check the green battery indicator light before you get on. If it is not on, the unit is not on and
you will fall.
Do not stand on or near the center or rotating portion of the foot platform.

 Remember to keep your body relaxed through your back and legs. Stand naturally.
Practice controlled stopping.
If you stand with one foot on the foot platform with the unit on, keep that foot level, or the MonoRover will
move.
Be aware of the width of the MonoRover and the path you are roving, and never jump on or off the
MonoRover.
Avoid riding over any surface where the undercarriage may strike an object.

All accessories unusually consumed (not resulting from user accidents or usage) can contact our customer
service team for repair or replacement.

1-Year Limited Hardware Warranty

MonoRover offers a ONE YEAR limited warranty covering the hardware of MonoRover Hands-Free Smart
Board limited to those residing in the 50 US states. MonoRover warrants the Product to be free from defects
in materials in workmanship under normal use for (1) year, as sold to the original purchaser. If a hardware
defect arises and a valid claim is received within the warranty period, at its option and to the extent permitted,
Monorover will (1) repair the hardware defect by using a new or refurbished parts that are equivalent to new
in performance and reliability. Or (2) exchange the product with product that is new or refurbished. The
warranty is for replacement of like items only and does not cover products no longer in production. The
warranty is not assignable or transferable and only applies to the original purchaser of the product(s).
DO NOT disassemble the product. Disassembling the product will void this warranty. Only MonoRover or a
party expressly authorized by MonoRover should perform service on this product.
This warranty only covers technical hardware defectiveness during the warranty period and under normal use
and conditions. MonoRover does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of this product. This
Warranty does not apply to damages or circumstances, such as, but not limited to:
1) Damage that is caused by conditions, malfunctions or damage not resulting from defects in material or workmanship.
These conditions include, but are not limited to, road hazard, accidents, and improper operation or maintenance
2) Product has been tampered with, repaired and/or modified by non-authorized personnel.
3) Damage to the product that is cosmetic, meaning damage that does not impact the operation and functioning of the
product, such as without limitation to rust, change in color, texture or finish, wear & tear, scrapes, scratches, dents,
cracks, or gradual deterioration
4) Fraud, theft, misplacement, unexplained disappearance, or willful acts

Limitation of Liability
In no event shall MonoRover be liable for any incidental, indirect, special or consequential damages or
liabilities (including but not limited to incidental or consequential damages for loss of time, inconvenience,
loss of use of product, or any other consequential or incidental loss) in connection with the purchase, use, or
operation of the products. MonoRover is NOT liable for property damage, personal injury, or death.

NOTICE: INSURANCE YOUR INSURANCE POLICIES MAY NOT PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR ACCIDENTS INVOLVING
THE USE OF THIS SCOOTER/ELECTRIC RIDE-ON PRODUCT. TO DETERMINE IF COVERAGE IS PROVIDED, YOU
