FROM YOUR PASTOR

Will Rogers once said, I dont belong to an organized

political party; Im a Democrat. When you consider
our current presidential race, he could have easily said
Republican.
We Baptists are one of the most organized
denominations anywhere (perhaps too much). I like
plans and preparation, but I like even more the way the
Holy Spirit takes our hard work and exceeds our efforts.
March at Eastmont was incredible. There were mission
trips (New York), Passion Play, a Missions Conference,
and of course Easter Sunday. What God did through all
of these was far greater than we could ever plan. When
we do the possible, God does the impossible.
Want to be baptized? Our fourth Backpack Baptism is
this Sunday night. Anyone twelve or older can just show
up and be baptized. Our only requirement is that you
have received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and
Savior. I will be glad to baptize someone under twelve
provided one of our ministers or a parent has discussed
their salvation with them.
Faith - Family - Friends is our slogan and describes us.
It also expresses our purpose:
Faith - believing in Christ.
Family - becoming like Christ together.
Friends - bringing others to Christ.
Each year God enables us to give about $200,000 to
missions. Thank you for your generous support. We are
about $3,500 short of this years Annie Armstrong Easter
Offering. Pray first, then give as God leads.
Every week I thank God that he has allowed me to serve
with you here. You are the finest people anywhere. You
probably expect me to say that because of my position.
But it would be true even if I were not your pastor. Your
love for Christ has encouraged me to serve with greater
dedication. Faith, Family & Friends is more than a nice
phrase. It is what Ive experienced at Eastmont with you.

April 3 - Preschoolers will have TeamKID at 5 PM while

our elementary kids will attend the backpack baptism with
their families. A Fellowship meal to follow.
April 10 & 17 - Social Media Awareness for parents at
5 PM in room 120. Speaker: Michael Trotter; AL Law
Enforcement Agency, Cyber Crimes Unit
May 8 - Mothers Day (No PM Activities)
May 22 - Timothy Time, 4 - 6 PM (buses load at 4 sharp to
travel to Charles & Jane Andrews home)

5th & 6th Grade Mission Trip

May 26th-28th to Anniston, AL - Cost: $67 - due May 1

Leave Eastmont at 7 AM & return Saturday at 5 PM
Mission Debriefing: A time to share about the mission trip
with families on May 28th at 5 PM in the fellowship Hall
Pizza & Drinks provided. A letter will be sent out the first of
April with further details about the upcoming trip.
